About Making*Lovers

STORY
"For my whole life, I never had a girlfriend.
People could laugh at me all they want, but I refused to give up on my ideals when it came to love.
I had always pictured a first encounter where I knew right away she was my destined one.
After several chance run-ins, we would exchange numbers. Then we would hang out together on the weekends.
Only once we've grown close enough would it be time for a real date.
I wouldn't have accepted any love that didn't develop like a storybook romance.
Picking up girls at a club or going on blind dates was out of the question for me.
And so was arranged dates. How could it be romantic when someone else set you up?
I had stood unwavering in my beliefs for my entire life.
Until, that is, when the words of a certain girl turned my view on love inside-out."

So, in the first ten minutes, you're faced with a little sister (not related by blood, natch), and an instantly repellant protagonist who screams about his fetishes and rants about the evils of real women compared to his eroge. A "pure love story" they said. False advertising, or just an extremely skewed perspective? You make the call, cause I've already asked for a refund. Maybe it's possible things develop in a less awful manner in the later hours, but when it comes to visual novels, it's much better to be safe than sorry. AND STOP PUTTING STEPSISTERS IN THESE.1 found this helpful

My favourite part is when they started making lovers of each other.1 found this helpful
Making Lovers is easily the best moege out there. It basically takes what appeals in moege and excels at that, and especially nails the romance and comedy parts. I don't remember how many times I have burst out laughing with the absurd jokes and banter that this game brings to me. The romance is pretty much straightforward, unlike other moege, Making Lovers isn't wasting your time in the long common route with a bunch of meaningless choices like other moege. It basically introduces you to a girl, you pick a choice, and then the relationship just progresses from there. The girls are all likeable for me, so no complaints on that front, but Karen is truly special, standing out compared to the rest. With Saki following close behind. Anyway, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who wants a good romcom story.1 found this helpful
Honestly one of the best, if not the best pure love no plot VN out there. It knows exactly how to blend sweetness and humor, how to pace itself, and how to write an ending that leaves an impact. Recommended especially if you've never read SMEE before. Mashiro best girl.
Great VN game. Saki and Karen are the best ngl.
