About Mango

Mango is a surrealist first-person adventure/puzzle game about art and derealization, featuring
  • * trippy, psychedelic visuals
  • * intense psychological and philosophical undertones
  • * fragmented, lore-rich storytelling
  • * experimental horror elements
  • * and last but not least, an overarching feeling of NEVER knowing what to expect.
It explores the idea of a mind losing its grasp with reality, as reality turns into a dream, and that dream turns into a nightmare. It has an off-kilter tone that can shift from overly chill to downright scary. Often it resembles an acid trip, or an interactive fever dream.

The game contains ~8 hours of gameplay with lots of freaky action, even more freaky fashion, deconstructed urban landscapes and/or dreamscapes, existential angst, questionable parenting, a bit of driving, and a fair load of straight-up madness.
It has been described as simultaneously dadaist and hyper-realist in nature, both alien and also deeply human, as well as the story of a life, filtered through the eyes of the mind.
Also, it has been described as WEIRD as hell ;)

Trippy and surreal walking simulator / first person exploration game, similar to Tales from Off-Peak City or ENA: Dream BBQ. Recommended if you like big lips, and your watch always shows 4:20

not stimulating enough, well i know its supposed to be a really laid back walking simulator but its not interesting in general.

i was itching for another surreal dream walking sim and ♥♥♥♥, this scratched it. It's overall just beautiful and the bright garish elements appeal to me like crazy. The narrator is unreliable which lends to the dream and nightmare like logic of the story. I'm prone to finishing games like this in one sitting but was really pleased with how long it took without ever feeling like it was dragging on. I liked the puzzles overall, though some later are a little frustrating, but it's easy to find help for them. I'd give it an 8.5/10, not perfect but really, really good if you're also craving something weird, unsettling and beautiful.

eh it was alright, I didn't get far because the sprinting didn't work and it annoyed me to much to continue, I did like the design and do think the rest of the game could be fun.

The video game equivalent of an art house film. The enjoyment stems from walking around experiencing crazy weird environments and never knowing what the game will throw at you next.
