Un mario clone muy cute. Te divierte un rato.1 found this helpful
I've played New Super Marisa Land before this, and yes, it is the better game of the two by scope, content, and overall level & world design, but this is still another really solid Twilight Frontier release. On top of that, if you're going into this expecting the same quality as that of some official 2D Mario entries or even some highly regarded fan-games / romhacks (i.e. Super Mario Bros. X), then you MAY be disappointed. Controls are similar to the last game (aka very heavy and stiff, but manageable). Hell, controlling Marisa in mid-air is way heavier than it is to control on ground. For example, moving in mid-air while at a standstill doesn't have an acceleration at all compared to SMB1, and her max running speed is drastically faster than her max walking speed before that, and trying to turn in mid-air while at that max speed is pretty damn difficult which becomes an issue if you mess up a jump and wanna get back. The level design is mostly solid in the main campaign, albeit possibly repetitive for anybody who doesn't like SMB1 level design. Now, as someone who likes SMB1 a lot and way more than the next two games + Lost Levels, I really enjoyed these. The hard levels you unl…1 found this helpful
Gamers game: 2/5 stars Touhou game: 2.5/5 stars Summary I tend to review nicer towards Touhou games as the community is far more about passion and tends to be 1 or a few developers. Also, I really don't like writing negative review, but have to be honest. New Super Marisa Land is a significantly better and more complete game. MarisaLand Legacy starts off as a fun, cute relaxing re-skin of Super Mario 1. Even with all the issues, the game is enjoyable for a while b/c the first half isn't so bad. Cute art, music, style, etc. Also, permanently saving world completes is brilliant! Rather then having some password system, once you complete a word, you can always start at the next one. Some of the issues: 1) The interface is incomplete. You can't change controls or settings during the game. 2) Multiplayer also incomplete and generally makes the game harder, even with far more lives. E.g. can't change controls per person. If one person has a PS4 controller and other has an xbox controller, the controls are extra wonky. Screen doesn't stretch or move, meaning the slower guy will get you killed. Many jumps just designed for 1 person. 3) The controls are atrocious due to the awk…
