Mayflower Reflections

"Mayflower Reflections" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this "art experience". Instead of being a game, "Mayflower Reflections" is a garbage Youtube video about the Mayflower. Seriously, someone looked at a Youtube video and thought "This is a computer game" and paid $100 to publish it on Steam. Last I checked, Steam is not Youtube. We get this non-game shovelware on Steam whenever film school dropouts are desperate for anyone to give them validation, so they publish their short film on Steam because nobody watches their garbage on Youtube. There was a video section on Steam, but it's deprecated and basically closed, so failed filmmakers seem to just try to abuse the Steam games section instead. Why is this good for gamers? It's not. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, …

I liked it. It was interesting to imagine what it was like on a small boat on the big ocean back then. Seemed like a fair representation of both sides. But what do I know.

Boring

This is a bait and switch. You think it's about America, and the brave people who established the first colonies, but it is just another left-wing propaganda piece. "Some natives told your ancestors to put a fish above some corn so you should flood your nation with foreigners" - that is essentially the message. They actually put a Trump wall reference in there too. Insane how fallen the UK and their "art" is. It's not even good visually. Pretty basic, no interactions. You don't even have hands at all. Go read the mayflower compact, and history about that time period if you actually want to learn something, rather then hear the tired lecture that you live on "stolen" land and ought to be replaced.
