Apollo 11 VR HD: First Steps

Apollo 11 VR HD: First Steps is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, Apollo 11 VR HD: First Steps is a software application that shows you a "VR Experience" (and as always, when a developer calls it an "experience", they're tacitly admitting it's not a game and thus should not be published as one) themed off the Apollo 11 landing on the moon, so basically they're trying to get famous from someone else's work. Gotta love the shady stuff you find on the murky end of the Steam game store. So, this is badly made software, less informative than reading Wikipedia, and was a dismal flop here on Steam. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Apollo 11 VR HD: First Steps is a free VR experience that is a Demo of a paid product. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. My HTC Vive controllers did work to start the experience by trigger, but it didn't say used trigger. The picture of this program in the store listing, says it is a Demo, but it is listed in Steam store as a Free game. Has two cinematic sequence from the Paid game. As a free game, there is nothing to do but watch, but it take 7 minutes to run through it. The two sequences looked and sounded ok. The paid product might be ok to buy, but you need to check the reviews for it. The devs need to put more notice that this is a Demo or teaser into the lobby and change the store listing to say it is a demo, then people might not thumb it down for being a bait and switch. This program is still usable as a VR starter and a quick VR experience about the Apollo 11 moon landing. Try it, if you are interested in the Apollo 11 moon launch, but it is a very short demo to sell the program Apollo 11 VR HD.

Slow to start, and can't even get it to start. "Play Demo" does nothing no matter what I try.

Это невероятно атмосферный и познавательный опыт, который дарит уникальные эмоции и заставляет по-новому взглянуть на величайшее достижение человечества. Однозначно рекомендую всем, кто мечтал прикоснуться к космосу.
