The FMV is crazier, and the racing is finally fun, but I think the AI is cheating!

Can`t launch game normally, because Steam can`t find Launcher.exe (the first game has the same problem too)! Thankfully, on startup you can select the second option and launch Zoom version - but Megarace 1 has no such option, so you have to find launch.bat and run it manually... Don`t recommend, until developer or Steam support fixes problems with Megarace 1 and 2.

I played this as a teenager, though I didn't have the money to buy it at the time.. Years and years later I did, and so I did. If you liked the first one this is a bit better. Graphically at least. Controls are kind've a pain in the butt to get working the way you want though.

One of the main reasons I love PC gaming is you can access games like MegaRace! The only very minor annoyance is the game runs outside of Steam. So if you're a weirdo like me who cares about Steam stats (like time played) they'll be impacted. But the actual game (what really matters) runs totally fine!

The first MegaRace was one of my wife's favorite games. I had never played any of them until a couple years ago....so nostalgia isn't going to work on me here. And the first MegaRace still is a masterpiece. MegaRace did something very well: it was a combat racer...with more emphasis on destroying the competition over out-driving them. Its not that driving properly wasn't needed...but lining up a good shot, or shots, really was the big deal with it. Megarace 2 decided to flip this and focus too much on the driving. The weapons feel...well...pretty much pointless. The missiles you start with are like throwing warm peas at a sherman tank. The impact feels so un-eventful..there is no reason to use them. The mines feel a little more useful because they slow down the enemy a bit. But that is when you can hit them, since they weave so much. Also for a driving game the control is...oh how do I say this nicely.....atrocious. I don't think I really have to turn...the game does it for me. But when I do, I feel like I have less control of my car than just holding the gas and doing nothing else. And great....we can now be turned around on the track.....sometimes for no reason at all.
