Melody Mania

After Singstar died it left a massive hole in my soul. I just loved singing games and simply kept my ancient PS3 just for that. Now Melody Mania is a neat well working Singstar-like experience. I've dedicated one old laptop just as a karaoke machine. Just plug in your old PS3 microphones, get the songs from the massive online database (not promoted by game itself) and enjoy! The game is pure fun, free online app works good it gives you plenty personalisation options and even allows you to play with many many friends. The game is fine and contact with dev is amazing. I couldn't be happier with it. Actually I made a few of my non gaming friends buy it (well.. their kids forced them XD).

I am somewhat new to the gamed karaoke "scene" and have been looking for the right software for a little while. While searching, I tested a majority of the freewares available for this kind of karaoke (see: https://open-music-games.org/games/), progressing through UltraStar Delux, then UltraStar Play, and finally Melody Mania. UltraStar Play is what convinced me to buy, as I could test the features of Melody Mania, *for the most part*. Reasonably, there were some features that did not work in UltraStar Play; at first I just thought my game wasn't working (maybe it wasn't!), but then I realized that it seems like UltraStar Play is/was more like a demo build for Melody Mania. The solution is to buy Melody Mania, so I did! And I am very happy I did. The features that unlocked in Melody Mania are exactly what I was looking for as a new player and song creator. I am hopeful for the future development of the game. I like the optics more than the other clients, Also its more easy to configure than ultrastar, no editing config files needed here. coming from ultrastar UltraStar Deluxe this one is defnitively an upgrade in features. still need to test out the multiplayer function, but generally im positively surprised up unitl now

One of the best karaoke software on the internet. If you wanna find songs I can recommend USDB. The only problem is Linux compatibility. It works through Proton, but there is a bug that plays the songs twice with a slight delay, making it essentially impossible to sing to. This is most likely a problem with music videos, since I did not experience this bug when playing songs without music videos. Still very good tho. I've used an old open source version for a couple months and now finally upgraded to the Steam version. Worth every Euro!

I'm so glad I found MM. I grew up playing Karaoke Revolution, Rock Band, and Just Sing all through high-school and my early adult life and am stoked to be able to have a similar play style with a truly endless music selection. Spent a couple hundo on a wireless mic setup so friends and family can sing in the living room while my PC runs it across the house. Steam Link through Apple TV works wonderfully. I don't use the AI tools/song creator but I also wouldn't ding the game based on an additional feature. Is it perfect? Not yet. UI can be a bit wonky and some things are inconsistent - but it's absolute fun for everyone.

I had the pc ultrastar for a while but it was missing some stuff (even the play version) Like multiplayer easily. THIS version makes playign with my fam in a different country easy :) For anyone saying its too complicated or hard to set up the songs from "A song manager"... ITS 2026 WE HAVE AI, JUST ASK IT HOW. within 10 min i had me and my 3 family set up all with a "song database". the rest has been great :) Huge thanks to the devs.
