The year is 2036.

One of the best Metro Games out there, god I love the story writing so much that I couldn't help but tear up and salute to Captain Miller.
It only gets a recommendation because when it's good, it's really good. Sadly, it's also surrounded by a bevy of technical issues that still aren't fixed to this day. Two of the major levels seem to be crash prone with no fix other than turning down the settings or forcing the game to use DX11, this is ontop of really glitchy mechanics when it comes to travel in both running, rowing, driving and ziplining. I also ran into multiple glaring animation issues where characters would just t-pose as well as the Enhanced Edition being downright broken for me and unfixable, I assume the Enchanments were more bugs. It also suffers from all the best and worst aspects of past Metro Games and the last level suffers the most from this to the point where if the ending cutscene hadn't won me back this review would've been a negative one. Play the first two Metro games first, force DX11 and don't put the settings above high because despite having quite a hefty machine that can run bigger and more graphically intense games than this, it just crashed to desktop without warning on the later open world levels.
10/10 game, encountered a few crashes although its probably because im on linux (endevouros) PS: if you do crash multiple times on certain chapters (yamantau, the caspian, etc), turn on v-sync to "full", switch to medium on quality, and texture filtering to "AF 4X". (All these settings worked for me during my play through.)
