Mobile Murder Mystery

This is a very short VN that surprised me a LOT with how good it is! It has a simple but cool visual style, cool haunting music and a very hard hitting story. Playing this game had a nice vibe to it. You have some choices that lead you to around 12 different routes/endings, adding up to a little under 2 hours of playtime. [b]I recommend to get ALL endings, in order to form some connections and reach your own conclusions.[/b] This game works better as a collection of those different routes, rather than getting a single ending. The story is very up to interpretation. But you can identify the main themes, such as escaping a work routine, living in a monotonous city, the need for human connection and similar thoughts. The game goes for a sort of surreal vibe, but doesn't lean too heavily into it, which makes its themes not too hard to follow. Overall, the endings combined are a summary of the main character's mindset, and some of it can be very relatable. It can hit really hard and, overall, the message is sad. Short and touchingly uncanny VN that leaves a lot of its substance up to interpretation while maintaining a clear direction. Simple, yet sweet presentation with its style. Abstract, yet cohesive writing that pulls you into the world and leaves you with a lot of space to fill in the blanks for yourself without appearing empty as a whole. In my eyes, it mainly delves into the contrast between 2 states of being: - The harrowing "comfort" of familiar monotony and how strong of a pull it can have on our behavior and decision-making. - A mix of excitement, fear, relief and determination once unshackled from it.
