nice old style game but short most likely its for old people only .. i replay it now with steam deck which is better even without support xD

Doesn't work properly in 2026 on Win 11. Maybe it did at one time. Hangs every time you exit the game. Keyboard controls are terrible, basically unusable, and you can't rebind them. Claims to support controller, but d-pad and analogue stick are both not recognized during configuration.

Throwback retro games are a dime a dozen but how many have actually referenced old DOS games? [b]MURI[/b] does that, with inspiration especially from the original 1991 [b]Duke Nukem[/b]: large, haphazardly designed multi-directional levels littered with collectible items for score and extras, complete with choppy 16 FPS scrolling but with an option for a smoother one. It is even split into episodes, always in remembrance of the shareware games of yore. Little frills, besides the ability to shoot in a direction while retreating towards the opposite. The jump is really high and floaty, somewhat justified by the idea that the player is wearing a super suit. There is no way to change weapons, it automatically defaults to the most powerful currently collected, meaning that even some really powerful ones can't be easily conserved. True to that era, the 4:3 window has even smaller space for playing, with a fairly large HUD. 16 color palette, even the same primitive parallax in some levels (the background is static), just solid black background in some other places, and besides a little intro and ending music, all beeper effects. I think it's fair to first point that when this says it's an authentic 80s experience, it is a bit incorrect. This is more of an early 90s DOS experience. This game feels like it belonged right there in the 1990-1993 window of Commander Keen-esque action games that blitzed through the DOS PC world. It has those obnoxious explosion graphics, secret walls, domino-effect blasting, noodley platforming, and blerpy sound effects. The level layouts feel elaborate enough, with it being fun finding secret walls to walk through or shoot through to find more stuff. The platforming is also nicely done, with my only real complaint being that there are no moving platforms, so the levels sometimes feel to easy if you're seasoned at playing similar games of the time. I would have liked to have some music, but since the PC speaker-esque sounds are great, it wasn't a big deal. The visuals also feel just right, with crisp tiles and sprites, and parallax background. as all the other reviews say, pick this one up if you have any place in your heart for the games this one pays obvious tribute to, though I'd also recommend to any other ludoheads out there, especially if you liked iji.
