About My Diggy Dog 2

A couple of adventurers named Christopher and Clara once traveled the world in search of ancient treasure and the secrets of the universe. During one of their expeditions they met a cute puppy and named him Marty. Since then he has always traveled with them and is passionate about adventure and digging.

While hunting down a mysterious artifact called the Heart of Space, Clara suddenly disappeared. Exhausted from searching, Christopher returned to camp, where his faithful friend Marty was looking for him. Heartbroken, the experienced adventurer almost gave up on archaeology.

But Marty noticed that his friend was sad, so he became courageous and went alone to look for Clara. The dog found an ancient map with the words "Heart of Space” and something resembling a portal on it. He brought the map to Christopher, which made him excited.

Plucking up their courage, Christopher and Marty decided to finish what they'd started and find the portal to the Heart of Space. Who knows? Maybe this ancient artifact will help them find out what happened to Clara.

Players praise the cute dog character and stylized graphics, but overwhelmingly criticize this mobile port for lacking basic PC features like graphics settings, resolution options, windowed mode, and audio controls. Several players report being unable to progress due to a game-breaking bug at level 27 where a required lever is missing, with no updates to fix it since 2020.

lazy mobile port with many problems. starts with a loud as ♥♥♥♥ voiced intro instead of a menu and volume settings, followed by gibberish dialog with typewriter effect, still no menu or volume settings (lines can't be clicked to appear either, they're skipped instead), then a tutorial level, still without the ability to bring up the menu and settings, followed by more gibberish, yep, without a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ menu or settings in sight. then finally level select (only one level unlocked at a time, always bad), thankfully no gibberish during dialog there, only the annoying typewriter effect still and tapping instead of clicking. and yes, a menu! but nope, no settings whatsoever. no resolutions (it was promised, never delivered), no windowed mode, nothing for audio, not even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ toggles. controls aren't rebindable either but at least both wasd and arrows work (up doesn't jump though, only 'w' and space) and there's mouse support, which isn't even true for some point & click adventures, so well done for not doing a 100% ♥♥♥♥ job. further worsening things are the wonky physics and inability to look around to see what's below or what a button does, can't undo either, all leading …

My Diggy Dog 2 is a free mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a paid product by greedy, morally bankrupt mobile devs. It's a 2D retro platformer with a single "gimmick", you can dig. Thematically this comes across better than most mobile apps, with a cute dog and somewhat stylised, if low resolution, cartoon assets that give this mobile app a family friendly veneer. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. PC gamers will be insulted by the presence of console peasant children's toy controller prompts, despite this being on PC. You can't turn them off. Developers should try to be aware which p…

I absolutely love this game on Mobile and now I can play it on my Steam Deck OLED! I totally recommend it! Yes, this game is compatible on Steam Deck. The only issue is the audio and the only way to fix this is to go to Steam Deck audio settings, and just switch off the Steam UI audio. For some reason that was the main culprit. Enjoy! Arf!

Cute graphics. A good doggo. It gets harder in later levels.
