About Mythos, Book One
You follow the story of the main character – which you may choose to be male or female – as they learn of the mysterious death of their ex-girlfriend, Lisa Harrison. Soon, the main character finds themselves fumbling through the hidden society of supernatural beings that lurk in plain sight. Some are very much like the legends suggest, while others couldn’t be further from what one would expect.
Will our hero piece together the puzzle behind the murder of Lisa Harrison, or will they be consumed by new attention they’ve brought upon themselves?
Solving a murder while also discovering that there's a whole supernatural world out there is quite a feat, but thankfully you'll have some help! A rowdy country-girl childhood friend, a tricky fae, and even a police detective are amongst your allies as you unravel the threads.
Of course... who's to say that these accomplices aren't also suspects?

Simply put, "Mythos, Book One" does have some sexual content in it. Five lovely ladies are helping you with your investigation, and as you investigate Lisa's death, you may find yourself becoming romantically entangled with one (or all!) of them. If that happens, things can get very spicy, very quickly. However, you can also choose to completely forgo any romantic encounters at all, choosing to instead focus only on the detective work. Whichever you pick, the core story of the murder investigation will be unaffected by whatever amorous side quests you choose to partake in. Mythos is, first and foremost, a mystery visual novel. There's just some naughty bits thrown in if that's the sort of thing you're into.
And for those of you who want the romance without the naughtiness (or if you plan to stream the game), there's a toggle that lets you skip right past any of the NSFW bits, even if you do choose to get closer to one of the ladies.

This is one of the best AVN's I've played. The who-done-it is well written and I'm proud that my 2nd shot at who did it was right (my incorrect 1st shot was a hunch that the least likely culprit had done it - not strongly supported by evidence). The naughty scenes were good, but the story really captured me. The posters for Bare Witness and Come Home in the background of the author's introduction were a welcome sight (if you liked Mythos, Book One, try those as well!). And I loved seeing Athena and Reba playing small roles, and spotting Heidi in the diner. It is cool how these games refer to each other, in a natural and unobtrusive way. I played through the game as female (though I'm male) and I found it refreshing. There are too many AVN's where the macho male gets all the girls by, well being a macho male. Thanks very much for this option, I wish more games allowed this! It was great how the girl-girl relations were 'natural'. For example, how the high school MC-Lisa relation was accepted by other students as a normal relation. I did not find any of the hidden items, though I did search for them in quite a few scenes. King of Swords, for a first game you did an awesome job. The story had my attention fully. The end was nuts but enjoyable and fun. Very good story writing. Looking forward to your next adventure.2 found this helpful
Ok, so... This is the Dev's first, and only self release, at this moment in time. Collaboration with a few other different AVN releases though. The story so far is intriguing. But the artistry/graphics are pretty bad, as being 6.5hrs into it. There's a claim made by them at the beginning of the game that graphics will get better. Haven't seen it yet. Sure hope it gets better, because of right now it's bad. Mainly it's one of those AVNs where the character has a figure just standing there talking at the screen. Not a really of one screen interaction besides that. More looking 2D instead of 3D. Then there's the women. All of them are dog sh_t ugly. Worse than Horse-face ugly in makeup. Can't stand looking at them. I made the mistake of trying to just skip through everything. Then got lost as to where the story was going. So now I have to start over. I'm gonna keep on playing it, just to see if it does actually get better. Because of right now the women are so ugly. And the graphics are bad claymation looking CGI crap, when it does seldomly goes into 3D. And the MC doesn't look so great either. Another stupid broccoli cut hairdo, and a weird looking dangly. Never got into this game. I may return to it later. Like other reviews, there is no romance in this game. I need to reclaim my disk space. This game got elected to be removed. Later.
