Myosotis: My Life Is Not Yours to Take

I loved this game. I think the writing is sublime, especially the narration. The dialogues also feel very natural and flow well with the story. I think the emotions brought up by the plot are strong and make you resonate with the protagonist. The art style is also distinctive and pretty. I definitely recommend this game, though I wish the story expanded more on the resolution of the protagonist's situation at the end of the game.

it was a beautifully angsty read. i do wish to know more about jude though. [spoiler] one of the phantasms revealed that jude was jealous of ethan's life and achievements which lead to him killing both ethan and mc but i don't think that was enough information abt him as a character for the player. i jst rlly want to know more abt him lol. The ambiance is 10/10 and the writing would go from heavy to light quickly (but in a good way). I felt the MC's rage and this visual novel had me at the edge of my seat. I wish it had a support DLC pack, its that good.

Myosotis: My Life Is Not Yours to Take is a short visual novel that caught me off guard with how dark and personal its story gets. I play as a woman who has died at the hands of her former boyfriend Ethan, and instead of simply moving on, I stay behind as a ghost and start haunting him because I want answers. That setup immediately gives the story a strong reason for me to keep going, because I am not just watching someone else's mystery unfold. I am trying to understand what happened to me and why. The story is definitely the main reason I enjoyed this. There are around 20,000 words, so there is a decent amount of writing for a free visual novel, and the game gives me choices that can lead towards two different endings. I like that the choices are connected to the main themes of grief, anger, revenge and trying to find some kind of peace. It does not feel like the story is using choices just to give me different dialogue. My decisions actually fit the situation the character is trapped in, which makes the two possible outcomes feel more meaningful. One of the more interesting ideas is the phantasm system. As a ghost, I can use a special tooltip feature to examine other character…

short visual novel, perfect for one night. mood there is just something... different. im quite disappointed with ending i've got first try though, i will update if ending I is any better. but overall I recommend!
