NEON Ultra

NEON Ultra looks like it's a 2D retro pixel/neon/minimalist ripoff of Asteroids (copyright Atari Inc 1978), but it's not. See, the developers couldn't work out how to replicate the SpaceWar! (1962) thrust/movement mechanic that Wozniak did such a good job of copying for Atari. So it's more of a 2D retro pixel/neon/minimalist top down shooter without any of the grace or challenge of Asteroids. Which is pretty lame, but here we are in the dredges of Steam. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The graphics here are some of the worst, laziest attempt at video game "art" I've ever seen. It's hard to suggest this game even has graphics. It's just untextured, basic pixel blocks and blobs, the kind that an infant child might be able to create in 5 minutes on MS Paint. It's clear the developer didn't even try to produce any real graphics for the game and just phoned it in. It's unclear why such a lazy approach was taken, whether it may be caused by lack of talent, budget, or motivation to do their job properly. Futuristic Asteroids with an exhilarating soundtrack, simple controls, and a ruthless difficulty ramp!

I am a 55 year old biker and trucker father, and probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my son many happy memories. Thank you

This game is TOTALLY AWESOME! Like Asteroids and Geometry Wars .. Geometroids! Really cool game. Great effects, fantastic soundtrack, really nicely polished.. I don't have a bad word to say about it. It should be at least double the price and everyone should have this in their game library! It's a really good game.

I bought this game a couple of years ago and it's a lot of fun, so much so that I purchased a copy for my bestie! The price recently dropped so it's even better value for money. BUY NOW!
