Mindless fun and a good romp with the original Nicktoons. I enjoyed that they were able to get most of the original VA's back for all the characters. Though some of the characters were better than others based on abilities. For a first ARPG it was a good way to introduce children to them, but also a slow nostalgia blast for people from the early 2000s. I do wish we had a bit more characters, and I dislike how the story of the game ended, but not the hardest game to 100%, well worth the time if you enjoy it.5 found this helpful
Updated review: I was able to fix the previous problem with the potions and equipment disappearing by going to a previous cloud save. So now I feel like I can go ahead and properly review this game. Nicktoons and the Dice of Destiny is basically a family friendly Diablo-like with Spongebob. Despite how the sponge is at the front and center of everything, Timmy Turner is arguably the main character as the story revolves around him. The story was pretty much what you'd expect - the iconic nicktoons characters, plus the TMNT since they're now owned by Nick, find themselves taken from their own worlds and have to get the dice of destiny to set things back to normal. Pretty basic stuff, but the main charm players will find is the interactions between the toons themselves which are thankfully voiced by their original voice actors. The levels themselves are based on the worlds of these various shows, with enemies such as Spongebob-esque fish knights or ghosts from the Danny Phantom universe showing up across these levels. The game itself is not overly hard, with 3 levels of difficulties to choose from in each stage. However there are some specific missions that are needlessly frustratin…1 found this helpful
Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny is a crossover-driven action RPG that leans heavily on nostalgia while attempting to frame familiar Nickelodeon characters within a light fantasy adventure. Developed by Petit Fabrik and Fair Play Labs, the game builds its identity around the idea of a shared multiverse where iconic characters are pulled into a tabletop-inspired world governed by magical dice and RPG conventions. It’s an inherently playful premise, and the game embraces that tone fully, prioritizing charm, accessibility, and fan service over mechanical complexity or narrative depth. The story is straightforward but effective for what it aims to do. Characters from different Nickelodeon series find themselves transported into a fantasy realm, where they must cooperate, gather magical artifacts, and ultimately find their way back home. The narrative does not attempt to be particularly deep or emotionally driven; instead, it focuses on humor, character interactions, and the novelty of seeing these personalities collide. Much of the enjoyment comes from how well the game captures the essence of its cast, allowing them to retain their distinct voices and quirks even within an unfamiliar …1 found this helpful
It's a fun little ARPG. Very nostalgic if you grew up with these shows. Don't expect too much depth and replayability, though trying out other characters is fun, there's not really much build variety. It's easy in terms of difficulty and the story basic, but play it with friends/family and you'll have a good time. Would not recommend getting at full price, $20 feels about right.
Looking for a fun Nickelodeon themed RPG? This is the game for it, it's so fun, as someone who likes RPGs, this is a good RPG if ya ask me!
