The Naheulbeuk universe is an original creation by French author John Lang. It started as a very popular audio comedy series parodying role-playing games and heroic fantasy tropes. Now the story is available in English and as a video game for the first time!

- Play with seven classic role-playing game characters complementing each other’s skills as you level them up: the Ranger, the Elf, the Dwarf, the Barbarian, the Magician, the Ogre and the Thief!

Are yopu a fan of the Naheulbeuk universe? Then you might find some enjoyment out of this. Do you like well-made game with fair rules and balanced gameplay? Tough luck, what we got here is a game that's up there with Bloodbowl and Xcom in terms of RNG, the game almost always seems to favor the enemies no matter what the situation is. Oh, you're at the end of a hard fight, things aren't great but you have a slim chance of actually pulling through? Fumble! Dodge! Miss! The last few enemies are resisting and it's their turn? Critical! Freeze! Poison! Fall! Lethal damage! ♥♥♥♥♥♥, annoying spell or skill crippling your already worn down party! This is The Amulet of Chaos, in a nutshell, there's a competent tactical RPG somewhere in there but it's been dragged to a corner, got the ♥♥♥♥ beaten out of it, had its limbs broken and can just about babble instructions on how to ♥♥♥♥ the player over. This game feels like playing regular D&D expect that more than half your D20 is covered with 1s while the DM throws his and systematically turn the dice over to make sure they have a better number than you do. Sure, there are skill trees and equipments and such but they don't seem to make much di…
Theme could be less juvenile but solid gameplay and depth
So fun, and even better if you followed the original content back in the day. I have kept a signed album for so long even my kids know it by heart! Definitely a great game and a greater setting.
