FAMILIAR MECHANICS, NEW DEPTH
DICE TACTICS delves deep into dice mechanics to create a brand new tabletop-like experience that is designed specifically to play as an RPG. We worked hard to design an immersive dice experience, where each roll shows the dice spin across the screen then skip until finally landing on a number - just like physical dice. The 3-D polyhedral dice are crafted to also incorporate roll effects like blaze a trail of fire or spark upon landing or several other neat visual impacts.
CRAFT YOUR OWN STORY
You decide where the story goes by choosing the next move: Do you burn the bandit camp? Do you take the shortcut through the dark forest? And many other choices!
YOU KNOW WE GOT THE LOOT
After every battle, you earn the chance to collect dice. In turn, these dice can be used to roll for upgrades. Some of the upgrades for the current version can increase the number of turns for your character or make weapons hit harder.

I wanted to give this game a positive review. It is a simple indie RPG game with a basic story and turn-based battles. The first 2 chapters were fun, but after that it just turns into a grind loosing its charm. Also there are many strange/funny bugs like the game identifies allies as enemies and instead of healing them cause them damage. The worst, which why the negative review at the end, is a game breaking bug with broken saves which prevent you to load the game (black screen), basically forces you to one-shot the game if you want to reach the end. I saw it also in the game community discussions but no resolution.2 found this helpful
"Dice Tactics" is not free, content is paywalled behind DLC. If you do pay to unlock the full content behind this demo chapter, you'll find a bug riddled mess of an RPG that tries to differentiate itself from other RPGs by using dice. Which all the other RPGs use. Even Baldur's Gate 3. So I guess the developers may not have actually looked around to discover RPGs have existed on PC since Hack/Rogue. And they all use dice of some kind. So, ingenious new invention (dice) aside, this is one of the poorest RPGs on Steam. If you play it for any amount of time it gets grindy, and it's hard to play it for any amount of time because there's so many bugs alongside a hideous and badly designed UI. Plotwise this is some high school dungeons and dragons fan-fiction kind of stuff with CYOA elements, so we've got bad writing bolted on to the rest of the mess. I can't imagine anyone actually paid money to unlock the full game. Visually, this features mediocre hand drawn style "Baby's First Wacom Tablet" art instead of contemporary graphics. This obviously looks better than pixelcrap, but that's a really low bar to barely stumble over. It's hard to say if this was because the develope…
Игра 'Dice Tactics' оказалась приятным сюрпризом в жанре пошаговых стратегий. Простая на первый взгляд механика бросания и использования кубиков быстро раскрывает свою глубину. Разнообразие юнитов с уникальными способностями и зависимость от удачи добавляют элемент непредсказуемости, заставляя постоянно адаптироваться к ситуации на поле боя. Мне особенно понравилось, что каждая партия ощущается свежо. Нельзя полагаться на заученные стратегии, ведь броски кубиков вносят свои коррективы. Приходится импровизировать, грамотно использовать имеющиеся ресурсы и продумывать тактику на несколько ходов вперед. Графика хоть и не блещет ультрасовременными решениями, выполнена в приятном минималистичном стиле, который не отвлекает от игрового процесса. Звуковое сопровождение ненавязчивое и хорошо дополняет атмосферу. Из минусов можно отметить некоторую затянутость игрового процесса в поздних этапах кампании, когда враги становятся слишком многочисленными и сильными. Однако, в целом, это отличная игра для любителей пошаговых тактик, сочетающая в себе элементы случайности и стратегического планирования. Рекомендую!
Ugh, the shop description says: "A video game that plays like your favorite tabletop RPG game"... [h3]That's a clear NO!...[/h3] Whoever wrote this apparently doesn't have any clue what a tabletop RPG game is supposed to be, because I [b]hated[/b] playing Dice Tactics more than playing my [u]least favourite TTRPG[/u]. Just the inclusion of an animated die roll dosn't make something a "tabletop RPG" and this oversimplistic, ugly as fu[b][/b]ck bu[b][/b]llshit of a boring snoozefest certainly does [u]not[/u] deserve to be associated with any of the terms "tabletop", "RPG", or "game". Or "tactics" for that matter, because there are definitly none of those in this crap.
[h1]Before I played Dice Tactics, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good[/h1]
