Open Hexagon

It's fun but Super Hexagon is better. The difficulty curve is insane and it's much harder than Super Hexagon, even the early levels. It has workshop levels which is really good from what I've heard but I never tried them.

From an engine standpoint it's a solid moddable spiritual successor to Super Hexagon and it clearly has a lot of work put into it, but unfortunately this game has a significant content problem. The few included levels are well made but have an incredibly steep difficulty curve and most of the Steam Workshop levels are either overly difficult designed for hardcore players, experimental, or just badly designed. Unless you are really into masochism rather than a gradual difficulty curve with well crafted levels this game won't really satisfy you.

I really wanted to like this. I loved the original Super Hexagon. Speaking as someone who enjoys the extreme challenge of things like a well crafted Kaizo Mario mod though, this is simply not fun. There's no scale at all. It jumps straight into lunatic difficulty and just gets exponentially ridiculous from there. Well designed games can still be fun and rewarding even when "unfair" but this isn't it. It seems the developer completely forgot that there was an actual game underneath the original. While the original was an understated masterclass in thoughtful game design, this is illustrative of why having access to someone else's stencils and spray cans doesn't make you Banksy. Doubly so feeling ripped off as I largely bought this blind to support open projects, but it turns out this hasn't been "open source" for well over a decade despite still playing off that good will with the name.

played since the old 1.92 days someone made a review a couple years ago saying to not engage with the game's community, it still holds up today. DO NOT interact with the community of this game and just try to enjoy the levels best you can, game's fun on it's own but ignore the community all you can i put my PC specs here because even with these specs there are a couple levels that are so poorly coded/optimized that my PC cannot run them
