As soon as Hexara popped up on my Discovery Queue I added it to my wishlist. I have a lot of hours logged in Hexic on my 360 from back in the day and while I still have it, I don't boot it up often these days and when I do it's not for Hexic lol. So it's awesome to have this on PC where I spend much more time these days. This is a perfect "fidget" game to play while watching vids or listening to podcasts. The music is nice and all but it does get repetitive awfully quickly. That'd be my only complaint tho. No issues with compatibility on Linux via Proton either. TL;DR: If you recall Hexic fondly at all this is an easy buy. *Edit* As the dev said in their response, the music has been updated with some new tracks that are actually quite nice and soothing "chillout" selections. Good accompaniment for the game. Good looking out, dev!

I discovered Hexic about a year or two ago, as I've never really played it before despite having an Xbox 360 in the early 2010s and a Series X since 2023 I believe. Not only that, I was a kid in the era of MSN and I probably could've played Hexic in its original incarnation. That all being said, this is an excellent translation of the classic Hexic gameplay. As much as I enjoy the 360 iterations, this game simply belongs on PC and playing with the mouse convinced me of that. It's a huge shame that Microsoft hasn't attempted to bring Hexic back to PC since the short-lived Windows 8/Mobile version that is seemingly no longer playable. My only gripe is small, and it's that the music can be a bit repetitive after a few minutes. I understand this is a solo dev project, and as is, they've done a fine job. Maybe future updates will bring some variety. I bought it on sale, but it's well-worth it at full price. If you're a Hexic fan, or even just a general puzzle fan, you'll get a kick out of this. Also another suggestion for the dev, release this on itch.io if it's an option! This kind of game is a perfect candidate and might even get more traction there. Also wanted to note that I'm run…

Easily a game you keep coming back to. Great to play while working in the background or just chase high scores. The global leaderboard is fun too because I can see who I am competing against and it seems to reset monthly.
