I'll give this game a pass although it wasn't really for me. It deserves a recommendation tho for an original well-implemented idea and I'll try to say what others may like about it. It's a very arcadey battle-puzzler where you aim to complete each fight with the most owned squares having jumped square-to-square in time to a beat to make islands. It's very quick fire and competitive and while tactics help there's a lot of twitch decisions so its not always easy to guarantee a win. It could be absolutely ideal for 2-4 couch play with very short, very competitive rounds. There is a solo-play mode which acts more like a training mode, but you can play the main Battle mode 1p versus up to 3 CPUs if you dont have friends nearby (no online multiplayer available at this time) And its pretty fun! As you'd expect there are a few twists here and there with tricks and gimmicks to gain an advantage and a large variety of maps to play on. The production values are high despite the retro graphics and chiptunes, particularly evident in the Solo mode which carries a story and progression. The downsides are evident in this short review playtime - although clever the game is a little shallow …
