Poker Hands

I know it's a budget game but I've enjoyed this developers chess-themed titles. This one has arrow key controls but the reset button must be clicked with the mouse instead of just mapping it to R, so I decided not to play it on my steam deck even though I thought it would be perfect I didn't want to have to keep tapping on my screen to reset. Not exactly a puzzle game because of the randomness of the cards, so the whole thing feels incidental overall.

This game conceptually has something going for it. Combining numbers in 2048 being translated into combining cards to make a hand is a pretty cool idea, but this implementation is not it. 2048 has two random elements: where will the next number spawn and will it be a 2 or a 4. These are small random elements that help each game be a bit different from the last. This game has random elements in 1. where the cards will come from (you can see where it will be added, but you have no idea where the one after will go) and 2. What card will spawn (52 possibilities rather than just 2). I have been screwed over by a 4 spawning rather than a 2 in 2048, but I feel like I should've given myself an out. In this game, you will need to make a royal flush and a straight flush, so you take care of the former and almost build a straight flush but I just needed a blue 3 or a blue 8 to make it so I spawn card after card after card and it never shows up. The randomness in 2048 adds flavor, but the randomness in this game is the whole game. It doesn't make each time feel different enough to keep me on my toes, it just makes me frustrated. This was more fun than 2048 and likewise. I didn't understand the timed levels really, as it mostly acted very weirdly. Sometimes, the timer stood still, sometimes the next target did not get refreshed, sometimes I won with a 'Huh? How did I get this?' but apart from that, it wasn't hard to do. I liked the fact that the board was not constantly the same. Only really negative point is that on the Deck, figures were hard to read and it made me restart on the PC when I reached a harder level near the end I had to do over and over and I got tired of zooming in and out and not seeing even much better at all. Hence the extra playtime. All in all, I enjoyed it. Nice twist.

Интересный паззлер а-ля мобилкина игра 2048 с картами и комбинациями из покера. Но, есть две проблемы. 1) 45й уровень просто физически не проходится без гайдов, либо я криворукий 2) Игра не помогла мне выиграть 500 рубасов у ярика на настолках, за что конечно жирный минус

I really wanted to like this game, but it's honestly not very user friendly. I spent the first couple of minutes trying to figure out the controls for the game, which it turns out are just the arrow keys - no biggie, there. The problem is there are absolutely no instructions beyond a pop-up cheat sheet that tells you the terms for the different hands you can assemble. With a little polishing this could be really fun, but it would definitely benefit from a basic tutorial to get you started.

Found no fun.
