About Practisim Designer
Practisim Designer is a sandbox for budding or expert stage designers to create innovative stage designs for the practical shooting sports like USPSA, IPSC, Steel Challenge, IDPA and others. This tool allows you to drop in props from a library of hundreds of items. Stage designers can also simulate actually running through the stage with support for real physics based mechanisms like swingers, drop turners, texas stars and more. When you're done with the stage designs, you can export them into match ready written stage briefing documents in PDF format.

Practisim Designer is a very practical tool and easy to use. It really helps you understand the material without feeling overwhelmed. One thing I really appreciated is the YouTube videos they create. This is an amazing tool for stage design, particularly when working within constraints such as indoor ranges, side berm restrictions, hard range floors and minimum engagement distances for steel. The build list and extra views options make detailed stage PDFs that enable setup crews to build the exact same stage without the designer being present. You can fix issues like shoot-throughs before the stage ever hits the ground, and design much more complex and challenging stages than with other methods.1 found this helpful
When I was a Match Director I used 3DS MAX to design my stages mainly because I was comfortable with the interface and navigation. After finally diving into to learn the Practisim navigation/Interface, I believe that this is actually more intuitive and effecient for stage design. I'm looking forward to spending more time in the software to design and share stage ideas.
