I purchased this game because I'm a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice. So if that is the reason you're buying, know that it's P&P in name only and the characters aren't exactly in character. Colin Firth this Mr. Darcy is not. Also, some of the imagery, settings, etc are anachronistic and aren't Georgian era accurate. That said, the game play itself was interesting. It kept me engaged for the 6 or so hours it took to get through the game. (I made it through the entire game with no crashes or issue.) I have not played many HOG but this one was fun. The puzzle types were varied and they looked pretty. Story was...not something the developers spent much time on. Could be convinced it was taken word for word from a Wattpad fanfic. Still I bought this on a Steam sale and I did enjoy the time I played it. So if you are looking for a not so difficult HOG with a bit of Pride and Prejudice, if you squint, then I can certainly recommend this game. Oh and vampires. There's vampires. Buy it if you like cheesy vampires.10 found this helpful
Fantasy HOG + interesting puzzles + ok graphics = Decent HOG with variety of puzzles. A bit different than the HOGs of other developers, which is nice. Had no issues playing, bugs at launch are fixed.
Follow our curator for similar games
10 found this helpful
This game is incomplete - only got 15 min in and hit a black screen at end of labyrinth with skip button and nothing works even after restarting. Appears at least one other has as well. Would NOT recommend.9 found this helpful
Sadly, this game is a mess. Besides the bad voice acting and unclear plot, so far (which can sometimes be common in HOGs), there is an issue that myself and others have seemed to run into where you get a black screen after a cut scene and there is nothing you can do to fix it. You just go to the new area, a cut scene plays, and then there is a black screen you can't get past. Definitely not worth the money if you can only play 15 minutes of the game. I would love to play the rest of it as it so far was a lot of fun, but this is a game breaking bug that ruins the entire experience since we can't experience most of the game.5 found this helpful
"Pride and Prejudice: Blood Ties" is a Hidden Object puzzle game, the type you normally see on mobile app stores or even as browser apps. There's literally hundreds of these on Steam, mostly published by Artifex Mundi, many of them free on mobile app stores, but this one will cost you money on Steam. There's a Pride and Prejudice theme to the game, as the developer shamelessly has the gall to rip off the work of Jane Austen for profit, but this is a just a veneer over a tired and overdone set of hidden object minigames and Adobe Flash tier puzzles, wrapped together with a bunch of static screens that you "move" through by tapping your finger on your iPhone screen. While these kinds of games are popular amongst casual gamers, it's difficult to argue this is a great value proposition as a PC game, especially considering the price of this compared to the hundreds of free HOGs on the mobile app stores. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There…4 found this helpful
