About Project Thea

A dark turn-based strategy-survival RPG blending retro-futuristic urban fantasy with Slavic folklore. Customise your characters’ gender, class, and race, and recruit NPC allies to explore the wastelands, rebuild your colony, and engage in tactical card-based combat. Experience branching narratives and character progression, where every choice shapes your survival and the fate of humanity in this story-rich roguelite adventure.

 • Survive and Explore a Story-Rich Post-Apocalyptic World. Uncover the secrets of Thea through rich storytelling, engaging quests, and diverse points of interest. Scavenge vital resources and face environmental challenges as you navigate a retro-futuristic wasteland shaped by Slavic folklore and mystical ruins.

 • Develop Your Hero and Party. Lead as your main hero while assembling a diverse party of NPC allies, each with unique abilities and personalities. Build and customise your team through deck-building mechanics and character progression, tailoring strategies to overcome the wasteland’s many threats.

 • Overcome Tactical Challenges. Use your card deck to navigate the perils of a shattered world, resolving both combat and non-combat encounters. Battle monstrous foes in tense, turn-based skirmishes or strike dark bargains with cunning Slavic demons. The tactical use of your deck is essential to outwit enemies!

 • Rebuild and Manage Your Colony. Ensure the survival of your base by recruiting new NPCs for your party, expanding your settlement, and navigating the politics of the town council. Balance growth with survival as you work to revive civilisation in the ruins of humanity.

 • Custom Hero Creation: Personalise your hero's appearance, choose their class, gender, and tailor their abilities to suit your playstyle.
 • Branching Story: Every choice changes the story and shapes your future.
 • Rebuild & Manage: Rebuild your colony and manage resources in a crumbling world.
 • Survive: Stand against the cruelty of the wastelands and enemies out to get you!
 • Explore & Gather: Scavenge the land for rare resources and hidden secrets.
 • Card-Based Combat: Build your deck and fight with tactical, card-driven battles.
 • Craft & Customise: Craft gear, items, and of course some yummy Slavic foods!
Planned during EA:
 • Co-op Mode: Team up with a friend for two-player chaos!

this game is to different for the original two Theas'... Its very boring to play and having to buy supplies instead of harvesting everything in the field is horrible. I liked the Thea series due to the fact I could explore the world while leveling my people.

This is just so much worse then either Thea Title I don't know where to start. Its like the developers spent a ton of time asking them selves how to make the game play more complex but then added complete random RNG instead of strategy based card usage. Might be ok if they get rid of supplies mechanic. Turn random RNG challenges into playable scenarios.

If you played the original Thea games or similar games to this one, you will probably love Project Thea. I love the fact that it's different every time you play. One thing happened in an event last time and even though you choose the same path, you might get a different outcome. It's like a box of chocolates with a few pieces of hidden poop, you never know what you're going to get!

I'm somewhat surprised to report that Project Thea seems to be turning out all right. I played the demo, right at launch. Calling myself disappointed would be a spectacular understatement, it felt like they'd thrown out most of the charm for a new setting that didn't have any of the depth or whimsy of the previous two games, and offered little more than visual variation. I'm pleased to say that isn't the case any more. This is a solid game. The biggest thing for me is the writing finally feels like it's closing the distance. I'm still not in love with the setting itself, but this feels like the Thea devs at work again, though it's a more thoughtful, melancholic take - The world's gone to hell, after all. The early game also isn't absolute butchery on normal difficulty, which was the second issue I had. You're still very vulnerable, and I suspect certain class/species combinations perform better or worse, but the sting of failure is softened by the fact that they added a meta-progression system, so no run is truly wasted, even if it feels like the game is out to get you. Visually, I can't really articulate why, but everything feels much improved. There's still…

Another wonderful Thea game, a challenging storyline and a survival tactical gem.
