In the new future, everyone's mental state and disposition can now be quantified.
Everything from emotional tendencies to criminal behavior are recorded and utilized as a guideline to lead everyone to the good life: not only pursuing happiness, but attaining it. Needless to say, the public was excited to begin quantifying their everyday lives. The general term for this value, which determines the morality of an individual's heart and soul, is commonly known as the Psycho-Pass.
One component of this value is the Crime Coefficient, which is ultimately a number that represents an individual's potential to commit crime. In order to combat those who attempt to disrupt the status quo, detectives work in tandem to maintain peace and order, composed of Enforcers and Inspectors. The former is tasked with apprehending suspects, while the latter oversees and commands their subordinate colleagues. After all, Enforcers possess high Crime Coefficients. However, because of their criminal nature, they can better understand what makes other criminals tick, allowing them to sniff out suspects and arrest the true perpetrators. But because of their criminal background, Inspectors are needed to provide a calm and sound judgement to each case. Ultimately, all members of the MWPSB have to walk a fine line, maintaining their own mental health while facing the worst that society has to offer.
With justice in their hearts, the detectives of Division 1 tackle each case, confronting humanity's ugly truths.

After learning this piece of information, it may feel unnecessary or even meaningless to play it - and I cannot totally disagree with that. The side case we embark on, accompanied by two new, averagely written characters, is not bad, it just doesn't offer you anything profound and breathtaking, unlike the first season of the show. The choices you make change how the story unfolds, however as the majority of the games in the genre, it's not drastic. Having said all that, I would still recommend the game, but only to those who want to experience a new part of this complex world and see familiar faces in action one more time.5 found this helpful

tldr: solid game if you like psychopass and are at least alright with visual novels, there are some bugs and getting a hold of base functionings can be a bit unintuitive, but it shouldnt be that problematic for casual play as someone whos a pretty big fan of psychopass i may be a bit biased but i think its a pretty good game all in all. it can be a bit finicky to get a hold of the controls (backspace into the menu as soon as you can and check the config is the best way to go there) and you really do have to make sure to save manually, but the story is pretty nice and the charcters and their interactions are neat, theres some fair variation in what routes you can take (tho if youre going for all the achievements it can get a bit repetitive in some sections) and you get some extra glimpses of world building which i personally enjoyed. both routes are pretty solid, i do think however that kugatachiis is more carefully and nicely made, but there is still merit to tsurugis, having his own style and interactions. my biggest issue is that in tsurugis route the skip function is broken, which is fine if youre just going to do a playthru, but gets annoying to manually have to sift thru if …
I sadly needed to drop this game in 2023. I luckily bought it for less than six euros. However, the game itself does not save my progress! Everytime I start the game it re-starts from the very beginning. And I'm not going to binge-play this game, I need my beauty sleep. If it would actually save for me, it could have been a solid game. UPDATE: Okay, so I am an idiot and I can actually save this game. Thank you for the comment on my profile, saved my ass.
Amazing story, great fanservice for Season 1 Psycho Pass characters, and a (optional?) matching mini-game that drains your soul. Overall great game ignoring that evil mini-game to unlock menu bonuses.
