About Raining City: Millions Recollections

A young woman called Lyu Xuan wakes up one night with her chest covered in blood and a mysterious black hole in the palm of her hand. She’s got absolutely no clue as to what’s going on – and to make things even more strange, riches start pouring from her hand. From then on, many monsters will come to her, hoping to control that source of wealth…

Explore a strange world that breaks all conventions; meet with humans and non-humans, and try to befriend them and help them with their plights so they can in turn help you out and uncover the truth of your new powers. The island city of Stage is modern and prosperous, but gloomy and rainy – and it hides countless secrets under its gray mantle. You’ll have to explore Stage, including those supernatural areas hidden behind the veil of reason, to find the truth to what’s going on with you.

This game is a really good surprise, I really like the experience. I don't know if the game creators have just a lot of idea or if it's because it tap into the chinese culture and folklore, but I found the mistery/horror stories very original, with creature I've never really seen before. Just a bad point, the translation can sometimes be botched, with character changing gender from one sentence to another, some sentence being very confusing where you not sure who's really talking and in one instance one sentence which wasn't translated and still in chinese. But all in all, it's a minor problem that can sometimes break the immersion a little bit because the text is not always clear, but it don't break the good experience

I went into this game worried it wouldn't be as good of a follow up to Orca Layout's first VN, Chrono Jotter and I can confidently say that not only is Raining City a *great* follow up but that it blows expectations out of the water. I'm still processing the emotional rollercoaster that was the ending but this is definitely their best work yet- banger soundtrack, beautiful art, and amazing story. And for those curious, YES this game has yuri in it. 10/10 this is my favorite VN ever made.

No way I never reviewed this... It's one of my favourite games ever it's a great follow-up to Chrono Jotter and I'm really in love with the story and excited to see more. The only issue with it is that the translation was a bit subpar when I played it before, but I don't know if that has been fixed at this point. I really love everything about the game though.

I wish I liked this game, I really do. I absolutely adored Chrono Jotter and its freaky/claustrophobic but ultimately warm atmosphere and thought that a more grand/abstract adventure would allow for the setting to "breathe". That breath blew my hopes away as this god forsaken "English translation" started naming random people and assigning them different genders and ethnicities in this cold bundle of stories that I couldn't really get into. I think the characters knew I was tired of listening to them ramble in BabelFish because their conversations convert to pure Chinese sometimes I'm more than happy to change the contents of my review entirely if we got something more akin to Chrono Jotter's translation, but I don't think I'd vibe with the sequel in general. Please prove me wrong with a fixed translation.
