"REDACTED" is a particularly garbage Unreal kitbash... yes, ho hum, a zombie wave survival shooter, incredibly unambitious, but at least you can put furniture in doorways to slow the zombie assets down. Particularly of note is the developer didn't bother putting textures on some of the assets... and the rest of them look like they're asset flipped. What a joke. This feels more like a tech demo or a project smacked together hurriedly to try make a kind of minimum viable product just good enough to pass the developers unambitious idea and shove it into Steam Direct to see if you can actually pay $100 and publish junk through Steam Direct. Yeah, you can. Is this good for gamers? Nope. Despite not being in Early Access, it's obvious this is an incomplete product. Developers have an obligation to deliver complete, not partially done products to gamers, that shouldn't be controversial. Whatever the excuses may be, it does no service to gamers for incomplete products polluting Steam like this. Fairly decent for a free game, can't complain about the price! Maybe it was me or my keyboard, but I did find some things to be unreliable. For example, I could never purchase rounds from the shop and I would just end up buying a new shotgun every time I needed ammo. Also had a bug where my hammer was sometimes unresponsive and didn't work properly. Another thing was the feel. The lack of a death screen really broke a lot of the immersion for me, instantly sending me back to the main menu. Also, being attacked by the zombies felt pretty lacking. First, there is no I-frame window so sometimes a group of zombies will walk into you and the next millisecond you're looking at the main menu from 100% health. And second, taking damage felt, off? It just felt like it made my number go down, maybe blood or another indicator on screen? Also thought they did a fairly decent chunk of damage for a basic enemy, speaking of, there is little to no enemy variety which could be a good future improvement. TL;DR: If you like hoard shooters, give it a shot. It's a small project for a couple of hours of entertainment. Coming from playing COD Zombies and other hoard shooters, I feel like the game going in a good direction. It does not have to aim to be a huge success, just to be a good hoard shooter. I did not suffer from the crashes, but had to edit the Engine.ini file to remove Motion Blur and Post processing as I was getting nausea the first hour of playtime. After that, it has been smooth sailing. I really like the concept of barricading, though it still needs more work. One or two well placed items completely negate the zombies and the difficulty drops to 0. The shotgun has no spread, so make sure to aim exactly where you want the shot to land.
