Ran well, cute game, short4 found this helpful
The original was 100% a masterpiece. This remake was 100% unnecessary. This ReDrawn did nothing more than add it to the never ending list of the plague that are Collector's Editions. The voice acting was bad, the stupid collectibles were stupid, and this made me want to play the original, wich I just did. I am so disapointed.1 found this helpful
As someone who finished the three drawn games long time ago, this new version was nice to replay the game all over again. The extra level is nice and provides more depth to the backstory. However, I wasn't fond of the newly added lip-sync and graphics; they seemed somewhat outdated to me.1 found this helpful
The Drawn series is fantastic and consists of 3 parts. Drawn Trilogy https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/2763/Drawn_Trilogy/
Bad remaster. Scraps various puzzles with hidden object minigames which do not add much to the gameplay. All of the characters are voice acted (which in my opinion, takes away from the experience) and have uncanny mouth movements when speaking. It also dumbs down some of the text when inspecting things and generally has worse story-telling/narrative aspects because of that. Bonus Chapter was kinda cool but the original game is better, in both gameplay and narrative.
Personally, I'm disappointed. I never played the original and so was very much looking forward to it, but for a remake of a popular HoG series, it felt quite unpolished and very very short. There's no map, no achievements, and loading between rooms initially feels like the game has frozen or crashed. I did enjoy the hidden object scenes, but felt they were few and far between. The story was ok - not many come to HoG games purely for a deep story, but it was just... ok... by normal standards. I bought it in the sale for £5.49 and I think I would have felt a bit cheated if I'd paid anymore. As such, I'm going to have to pick not recommended.
