Incredibly slow and overly simplistic. I'm sure it can only get better as levels go on but i'd rather watch paint dry than endure any more of this junk.16 found this helpful
This game has some decent ideas but poor execution which leads to boring game play. The story relies on you playing their previous game to care about the world but even then the lack luster writing made me skip the entire story. Unless you can find this game at 90% off I do not recommend.9 found this helpful

With Rise Eterna War, the series comes back with a prequel supposed to tell the events that led to the story of the first game. Not a Strategy Rpg anymore, the game has unexpectedly become some sort of Tower Defense with a touch of unit management. Gather resources, send out different types of troops, and try to defeat the enemy leader on the other side of the screen. I'll get what the game does well out of the way first, that'll be quick. Since Rise Eterna War is a prequel, it takes place in the same world as the first game and you'll meet many of its characters as well. Still stylishly designed, they take the role of heroes providing bonuses to nearby units once their gauge is full. The rest of your heavily pixelated troops don't look great, but at least they're easy to distinguish from one another. Which is good, because there are quite a few different units : soldiers, knights, berserkers, archers, healers... You can upgrade them to raise their stats, the same way you can upgrade the ballista, your siege weapon, that delivers AoE damage once ready. Now for the less... pleasant side of things. Those stylish heroes mentioned previously are sadly useless, as fights are usually …3 found this helpful
Do you like giant pixelated ballistas blasting your enemies with a giant pixelated arrow? No? Then this game is not for you. I boot this game sometime as a guilty pleasure to get a few laughs in while playing. For less than a buck I'd say it was well worth it. 5/101 found this helpful
Rise Eterna War, developed by Makee and Beast Games S. A. and published by Forever Entertainment S. A., positions itself as a narrative-driven strategy experience that expands the universe introduced in Rise Eterna. Acting as a prequel, it shifts focus to Arthbane, a battle-hardened general fighting to reclaim his homeland after a devastating invasion. The premise carries an inherently somber tone: a fallen kingdom, scattered loyalists, and the heavy burden of leadership resting on one man’s shoulders. Rather than simply retreading tactical RPG territory, the game attempts to blend multiple strategic systems into a hybrid design that merges real-time elements, resource management, and deck-building mechanics within a campaign-driven framework. The core gameplay structure revolves around commanding units across a series of story missions that unfold progressively. Players recruit and manage a roster of distinct units and heroes, each offering different tactical advantages. Between missions, strategic preparation plays a central role. Resources must be gathered, troops must be fed and maintained, and upgrades must be chosen carefully. This layer of logistical oversight introduces an…
