I prefer this over IL2 Flying Circis, mainly because its cheaper and just overall better feel but thats just me1 found this helpful
Rise of Flight is a good game if you want a F2P WW1 flight game, but a lot of content is locked behind DLCs. This game is nearly 20 years old as of writing and can run on a crappy PC pretty well with high graphics settings. This game is definitely showing its age but its AI can put up a decent dogfight. This game is very dead, there basically no multiplayer servers and the 2026 year high for player count on Steam was 35 people. Overall, if you want something more fleshed out, and actually has active multiplayer, buy the Flying Circus DLCs for IL-2 Sturmovik when they go on sale.
this game is great very fun to play even in 20261 the graphics arent the best but do hold up by todays standard, you get 3 planes to start with but can buy more, you do need to buy more planes for missions but you dont need to bother when playing quick battles. the albatros is the best base plane, and the best dlc to get if you are starting is the best flyer pack, mid to late war aircraft and they fly really well, some dlc's do have missing bits they want you to buy as many as possible bc its free. REVIVE ROF!
