About Rise - The Vieneo Province
Rise is a science fiction sandbox strategy MMO. The game is centered around a moon called Vieneo. The current game style does not lead you through any story lines or arcs. So it's pretty much a sandbox setup for sci-fi role playing. We started developing on it again about a year ago with a new server and the expectation to offer VR soon!
The ultimate goal of this game is to have fun flying sci-fi aerospace vehicles and trade your way to riches. Players start out with a car making small amounts of credits doing taxi runs. Eventually, with some help from other players, you may make it up to an E-series spacecraft hauling a variety of materials and passengers. Once you profit enough from passenger runs you can move onto buying property, constructing buildings, and mining ores.
The community is terrific. We have some core players that are eager to help newcomers. If you play your cards right, you might even get the keys to a W-6 "Manx" which can go to orbit with 3 cargo containers.
If you are hardcore enough you should definitely check out this game. At the very least it should stir up your imagination.

Key Features
- Unique Game Engine – Explore this huge world in a first person, vehicle focused view. With such a massive world and so much to see, you could make an entire game out of just traveling around.
- Construct Cities – Colonists arriving to Vieneo need help getting settled and beginning their new lives. You can assist them in developing thriving cities in secure, prosperous locations.
- Trade And Manipulate – Helping your cities become profitable by carefully shaping their economy is in your best interests. Trade between stations is key to making your fortune.
- Space As Never Before – Fly into space and experience a physics-correct orbital engine, and see the stars as few ever will. However, you must be careful; space travel is no place for mistakes!
- Protect Your Reputation – You have a reputation as a pilot and entrepreneur, and it impacts the opportunities available to you. If you have a reputation for crashing your ship, for instance, passengers will be very reluctant to fly with you!

This game is one of the unique gaming experiences I had for the last years. But it is obviously not for everyone. Who will like it?

If you are much into space flying/trading simulators like Elite Dangerous, X series etc., and you want to bring it to a next, much more realistic level, this game might be for you.

What is Rise? It is mostly airplane/spaceship simulator placed in future on a moon which is being colonized. If you have some experience in Microsoft Flight Simulator or X-Plane it will help you a lot because this simulator is realistic. Different planes every with its own flight model, some with vertical t/o capability and everything in realistic physics. You will need some piloting skill or you can learn these skills during gameplay. But it's not only about flying in the atmosphere. Some ships will allow you for a suborbital and even orbital flight to the space stations. So basic knowledge of orbital flight is needed as everything is modelled correctly in Newtonian physics. If you have experience in Orbiter or even in Kerbal Space Program it will be very helpful. If not - you will have to learn it.

Now while mentioned simulators only give you pos…13 found this helpful
So, I'm not an expert in space exploration, flight simulators, or anything like that but I am a CONSUMER, so here it goes.. I'm going to give a bad review because of these following reasons: 1. This is not a game where you can login multiple people using the same computer. Once you delete your screename, you cannot log back in. You receive an email stating that your account is deleted. So, if you have kids or roommates and they wanted to play this game at different times, oh well! Because once you delete your screename to put another screename, your account is deleted. 2. This is clearly a person's hobby project that is still ongoing but not enough is happening to make the game worthwhile. This game has been worked on for 15 years and while it's advertised as a sandbox space/flight simulator kind of game, there is not much to do in terms of creativity. There are no true goals in the game to give you some sort of guidance on what to do besides drive around in your car, fly around, or participate in flight simulators from what I experienced which, yes, I know that's kind of the purpose of a sandbox but at least in most games that offer sandbox mode, you're usually given an abunda…12 found this helpful
While the graphics might be a bit outdated, i love the depth and the simulation aspect of it. Both from a flight sim point of view (Joystick very much recommended) as a economic sim point of view. Work your way up to owning your own spacecraft / colonies. Make seamless trips to orbit and back and transport commodities across the moon. Full disclosure: I voluntarily help with development on this game.10 found this helpful
EDIT: I changed my mind. The game is great! Come join us on Vieneo! I'm glad I stuck with it through the many hurdles (which are outlined below). The game is in essence a flight simulator with a living economy. You can buy land, create colonies, and then set buy/sell orders for commodities, all on a moon far from earth. People can then ferry goods to you (if you set your prices right) and make a profit while you get to maintain your colony. You can also get to orbit and dock with the space station in order to ferry colonists that came over in the FTL ship down to your colony. I've come to appreciate the depth and uniqueness that Rise: The Vieneo Province offers. It’s a game that rewards patience and persistence, and once you get past the initial hurdles, the experience becomes genuinely captivating. There’s something special about being part of this tight-knit community on a distant planet, working together (or competing) in a living, breathing economy. That being said, the game does have issues, which are outlined below. While they can be annoying, they aren't relevant once you get a plane and start ferrying goods. IDK I could write out a whole thing but the demo is the exact same as the paid version including multiplayer aspects but you have a demo tag in chat. Game has like 2 active players anyway. The positives are a calming atmosphere with a feeling of vast scale, and primarily the in depth flight mechanics and being able to dock with space stations. There is even NPC ATC at the starter city and an airport chart for it. There is a separate website tracking flight paths and station locations. If you like using shuttles in KSP or flight of nova or want to motor around in a 90s cgi environment try playing it. Controls are hard though. Joystick recommended but mostly not needed. Don't buy it for the MMO aspects. Most of the time you will be the only person online on the entire moon. The 90s graphics aren't for retro style, the game is about as old as Eve Online and will probably never have an MMO playerbase. The moon is also bland and frankly ugly and permanently covered by clouds. Think Saturn's moon Titan. At cruising altitudes you don't even see the surface which is a massive detriment. City building works and is actually really interesting but I never got around to building colonies. Gro…4 found this helpful
