It's visually appealing and so far surprisingly stable, but only a very brief fun. I was entertained for a few runs, but I quickly ran out of content. Just a few rooms and some of my equipment slots where maxed and further drops were just wasted. I beat the first two guardians, but there was no feeling of progression or empowerment. Enemy attacks change with zones and they become bullet sponges, but that's it. I actually quit my final run, because I got bored. With some more unique mechanics it could be fun, but currently there is no enough content to justify the price, especially if it's supposed to increase. Maybe with some updates, if you can believe the roadmap, but that sounds like it will take some time and a lot more is required to even justify the starting price.7 found this helpful
I'm not usually a roguelike person, but this one caught my eye so I figured I’d give it a shot. Honestly, it feels more like an extended demo than a finished game right now. Ironically, I played the actual demo first, but only managed to clear the three current bosses after buying the full version. I spent about half my time playing on Steam Deck, and it definitely feels a bit different compared to PC. The Good: Visuals: The art style is super clean and easy on the eyes. Vibe: The music fits the atmosphere perfectly. The Bad: Price Tag: It feels way too expensive for how little content there is. It might be worth it down the road, but right now it's a tough sell. Steam Deck Issues: Ran into quite a few bugs playing handheld. Thin on Content: There aren't many levels yet, and the soundtrack is pretty limited. Confusing Mechanics: It’s not always clear how different items are supposed to work together. The Dash: Honestly, the dash feels pretty useless most of the time. Easy Bosses: Once you learn their patterns, the bosses are a total cakewalk. Final Verdict: The game definitely has potential, but it just doesn't feel like a full release yet. I’d suggest waiting for a few more updat…4 found this helpful
Despite being provided a key, i want to be AS HONEST as possible. (Reviewed after completion of current EA version.) Ritualist is a roguelike game similar to Hades, Reignbreaker and any other known of the genre. It is currently in early access and has 3 weapons, 3 areas and around 14 or so enemies. Why do i recommend this game then? The state of the demo.....Wasnt good, to put it simple. Difficulty was literally Dark Souls with you dying at the FIRST area withouth potencial to grow. It is now polished and refined to a T and is a serviceable game for what it is trying. You can make your own silly builds here and there and experiment with the daggers, hammer and glaive. Difficulty and TTK (Time to kill) is also WAY more realistic to what it should have been and the bosses have actual meat to it, not just spamming a single attack. The first one for example is easily the hardest one you will meet due to how you start the run with nothing and it has 10K health and crazy attacks because this game seems to be aiming towards a direction to be challenging. You are also rewarded for being aggressive unlike other games, hitting instead of running away restores your ability. Solid game, hope …1 found this helpful
Early Access Version 0.6.9 - 3 biomes I played the demo so I am excited to play the EA. I loved playing with the other weapons, though they just made me fall in love with the daggers more. I will say I miss the following death beam but the poison orb is a new favorite https://youtu.be/NuyQbFXc2Rc
