A student made game from "Objectif 3D", the game designer training school in France, specialty in training students to make games using Unreal Engines. Aparently the school tried to showcase one of each "genre" in games... this one here is a VR game which shows a bit of originality of the students idea and some good looking cutscenes... but that's just it. The rest of it feel dull and lack of game playability yet again... i am starting to doubt the quality of the teachers now...

"Rockytown" is another student project from Objectif 3D, this time a selection of VR exclusive minigames. It does raise the question of why some game dev schools feel it necessary to use Steam as a dumping ground for student assignments, especially when the students didn't all pass the course. In this case I suspect they probably got a passing grade, but the resultant product of their assignment still isn't a game I'd suggest people play... there's that old adage: "If the only thing that makes your game cool is VR, then your game isn't cool at all." That certainly holds true for Rockytown... this feels more like a tech demo than anything you might want to get your teeth into. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Not every "free" game really is. Really fun 30 minutes to an hour of content. It was a nice and simple game. Everything about it is really interesting. Do be warned, the red rock makes you leave the game. It says "EXIT" on it, I was dum and didn't read it and I touched it.

Есть, конечно, и недостатки. Иногда не хватает информации о том, как лучше оптимизировать процессы. Но в целом, это компенсируется методом проб и ошибок. Также, со временем, игра может показаться несколько однообразной, однако разработчики активно выпускают обновления с новым контентом. В целом, 'Rockytown' – это хороший выбор для тех, кто ищет расслабляющую, но при этом увлекательную стратегию. Рекомендую попробовать!
