About Root Connections
Digging deep into the root of his world, you play as the hallucinations of a man struggling with psychotic depression. Puzzling your way through the darkness of alcoholism and the fear of losing loved ones, it is up to you to root connect this man’s life back together again!
There are lots of things that this little mandrake will have to hide from, and these huge scary eyes are certainly one of them! Use one of the unique game mechanics by pressing SHIFT to hide yourself as a plant. You may hide for as long as you wish, but you cannot move the player while hiding.
As you make your way through the dark mental cave, you will have to use items to complete this puzzle platformer. You can pick up items and store them in your inventory, ready for you to place back down for when you need them!

"I know writers who use subtext, and they're all cowards." For a 48 game jam, it's not half bad. I wouldn't recommend it though, because of its MANY flaws. Without getting into spoilers, I like concept of the game with these characters exploring a man's psyche. But, the dialogue is pretty on the nose for me, it's just a [i] bit too much. [/i] The puzzles and platforming are pretty simple, with a few problems. There's an inconsistent puzzle mechanic with the large buttons which doesn't impact much. The bouncy mushrooms are the only mechanic that isn't explained and it's the hardest to understand (you need to hit jump to not get launched higher???). Lastly, this game has no sound or music, and two steam achievements which don't function.2 found this helpful

The 2 achievements "complete the game" and "complete the game with no dying" are broken . They don't work and need fix
Short, impactful story that's definitely worth the playthrough. The art is very cute and unique, which makes it all the more interesting of a game. Controls are easy, but some small bits might take a few tries. Very much recommended. <3
