Second Sun

There are the bones of a decent game here, but the whole package falls short constantly. Story? A semi-functional Warhammer 40,000 knockoff. The Emperor's in a coma, daemon cults are running amok, the standing army is barely holding things together, and 90% of the people you interact with in the sadsack world are already dead or will be by the time you're done talking with them. Such is life on Volg. Design? A nebulous (thing)Punk aesthetic from somewhere between World War 1 and 2, that mostly looks good enough... with the tiny issue of brown enemies blending into brown landscapes, or grey enemies blending into grey Ctrl+C Ctrl+V corridors that you might see seconds before you get kidney punched. Mechanics? Functional, but lackluster. Everything scales to player level, so you never get to feel like you're getting stronger; think "Oblivion with guns" and you're on the right track. Only, your skills are even more lacking and it's possible to forget you have most of them. Guns are okay, but also fall short most of the time unless you take the class that can use machine guns and roll up on the daemons like a budget Doom Slayer. Saving grace? Ok, so there is fun to be had in this game but there is a ton of bugs and odd design choices that prevent me from recommending this game.

Game had lots of potential but there a lot of QoL problems and bugs with it and they were not fixed and probably won't be since last update was over 6 months ago.

i cqn't say it's a bad game, it really has solid gameplay but once ou have played an hour everthings the same, the dungeons enviroments guns all exact copies almost

Great simple FPS mixing guns and magic. Reserve expectations do not expect much of a story line and enjoy the game play. Has issues running in Linux, appears to be abandoned by development team and price dropped to a great bargain.
