Stays faithful to the originals
It's a lovely game, really. The developer's have gotten the dry, sarcastic tone exactly right. The art, music and voice acting are fantastic. Stumbling block is the obscurity of some of the puzzles and a lack of guidance on what to do next. A few more dialogue hints, and a few fewer red herrings, would have improved the experience.

A really nicely made game that works well on Steam Deck as well as PC. It's been built for 1080P accordingly to the developer and this really noticed during parts of the game where the scenes zoom in (like conversations) where it zoomed in and you were left with potato pixels. I wasn't a fan of the old school pixel filter as I'm not convinced the filter is being done at the right part of the rendering - I would expect it to best-fit to the pixels of a screen, but instead it was just like the art had been made into pixels but the movement over them was still at native resolution causing aliasing and other effects that certainly did not feel old school. I only recently played the first two games and I was pretty mixed about them as a whole. This was a far stronger game and managed to move away from unnecessarily misogynistic humour (that I imagine fans of the original were unhappy about). There were still moments I was stuck, and at the beginning that was from not so obvious mechanics like using items on yourself. There were also a couple of moments where the dialogue made it seem like you would never interact with an item, i.e a red herring, move away - but in fact later turned ou…
