About Simon the Sorcerer - Mucusade: 25th Anniversary Edition

Following the success, media praises and high user ratings of the first adventure of Simon the Sorcerer (also available on Steam), we proudly present the next instalment.

Just when he thought his life was regaining some semblance of normality, Simon's wonder years are once again turned upside down when the evil sorcerer Sordid returns from the grave with only one thing on his mind - revenge!
Sordid reconstructs his Fortress of Doom and sends a magical wardrobe to fetch Simon, but it accidentally ends up on the doorstep of Calypso, the wizard Simon had to save in the first game. Simon then starts to look for a special fuel that can power back the wardrobe and get him home.
Journey with Simon through this inevitable sequel to the best selling Simon the Sorcerer, as he manages once more to get stuck in a land of twisted fairytales, recycled gags and carbon dated clichés!
With a cast of thousands (mostly woodworm) and enough Swampy Stew to keep an underprivileged country sick for a year, this classic adventure will keep you well entertained until we manage to make another sequel.

Developed by MojoTouch in partnership with Adventure Soft and published by MojoTouch, Simon the Sorcerer - Mucusade: 25th Anniversary Edition revives one of the most recognizable point-and-click adventures of the 1990s with a thoughtful collection of modern enhancements. Instead of rebuilding the game from the ground up, this anniversary release focuses on preserving its original identity while introducing quality-of-life improvements that make it easier to enjoy on today's hardware. It serves as both a celebration of a classic adventure and an accessible entry point for players discovering Simon's magical exploits for the first time. The story continues directly after Simon's previous adventure, but any hopes of returning to a peaceful everyday life quickly disappear. The villainous wizard Sordid returns with revenge in mind, sending Simon into another bizarre fantasy journey filled with enchanted locations, strange allies, and absurd obstacles. A magical wardrobe intended to transport Simon back home instead ends up elsewhere, forcing him into a quest to recover an unusual source of magical energy. The narrative embraces comedy from beginning to end, delivering a steady stream o…

Better than the first one, but still not great - neutral but teetered into positive. Again, I found myself stuck too many times with obscure solutions, or missing locations due to exits not being marked. As much as I love Chris Barrie - I enjoyed the VO in this more. The game felt more cohesive as a whole, without needing to memorise routes. There were some nice references to the first game, without making it necessary to have played it.

The game itself is...okay, fun at times, but also really tedious with sooo much backtracking (there is no map that can be accessed from your inventory) and some moon logic. However, the 25th Ann. fluff is just terrible, adding nothing of value and causing the game to freeze or crash. AVOID this, and get the game running with SCUMM, you'll have to get the game from an alternative source, though. *wink*
