About Sons of Saturn

Sons of Saturn is a first person point and click adventure, brought to life using photos of abandoned locations all over the world. You've returned to the collapsing underground city of Minerva to find out what happened to your mom, who you abandoned while fleeing the city. If you want to find the answers you're looking for, you'll have to navigate a labyrinth of sewers and rooftops, piece together your history from whatever clues you can scrap together, and contend with the lingering spirits of those who weren't lucky enough to die during the city's collapse.

Explore Minerva, the abandoned underground city halted by time.

The character must navigate and discover their way through the city of Minerva, a technological metropolis where the dead dream and memories cling to life. Sewers, rooftops, asylums, hospitals, and schools all remain, buried in place, untouched since the day of collapse. With the help of your Ferryman guide, you must find what clues you can while surviving the lingering threats that the city still harbors.

Unravel a rich narrative wrapped in pain, guilt, and loss.

How can we live in an unjust world? What cruel entity forced us to be conscious in a universe with such suffering? Why is a hideous stuffed cat talking to me, and why can no one else hear them?

Sons of Saturn explores the depths of both the underground city Minerva and the protagonists' psyches. Investigate both the cause of your pain and the warts that have grown up around it in your brain.

Brought to life with photos of real abandoned locations.

(Obligatory Received For Free Disclaimer) CONTENT WARNINGS (because there are none for the game) Substance abuse Talks of self-harm/"unaliving self" Child abuse Animal abuse (ETC ETC, Be careful) This game is truly fascinating in the way it tells its story in such a captivating way, which includes tasteful and sometimes shocking humor that is strategically placed within dialogue as to not ruin the intensity of a specific scene or destroy the overall grit of the story itself. The jokes and the sass blend really well with the seriousness and isn't distracting or silly. The game uses real life pictures for most/all of its assets, including the characters and scenery. This was the most alluring part of Sons of Saturn for me, personally. The handcrafted environment felt similar to analogue horror, though some people may disagree with my comparison. But that's just my personal tastes and opinions. The story was gripping from the start and easy to follow. You may be able to guess what's happening, but not to the full extent. I'm the type of person who tries to Sherlock their way through a good story, and I was pleasantly rewarded with being "kind of right" while still being surprised …

Gonna give this game a positive review because the visuals are great and the novel is interesting. I just don't think I quite have the patience to beat it. Pick it up if you want a bizarre read and interesting visuals.

I loved this game, but I can't recommend it to anyone because of the price. I really liked everything about it. The story is interesting, the characters are complex and multidimensional, the lore is deep and captivating. The visuals are just amazing. The color palette, the art, the atmosphere, the music… Everything is great. But it’s so short. A little over an hour max. The price for such a short visual novel is way too much. If you check the price history you’ll see that the developer is not participating in any discounts at all. That’s why I won’t be recommending this game to anyone.
