Tormentum - Dark Sorrow

I am a 2137 year old blasphemer and Vovoid mother, and probably one of the oldest people in the world playing this game. I am a single mother to my ScaniaFather, who is 104 now. My CharonSon got this game for from his Son, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he was like 2 inches in this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my CharonSon (SQUEEK), as he is always out with his Trainfriends or just watching bdsm BeksińskiHub. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside them. I loaded into the game and started playing but I was stuck on what you where puzzles supposed to slide. I asked my CrownOfTheDamned for help and he hosted a game which I couldn't torment. It was the best time I had spent with my Son since my StormEgg had died. This CrownOfTheDamned has ever since brought me and my CadaverTrainsonfather closer again and now we sinnin' all the time: outside, inside (eyes fall out), together, separated, with my rat, with my lizard, in Poland, in Ancient Rome, and with a spider's leg. The game's art style is what instantly drew my attention - the gothic, dark fantasy, over-the-top style instantly draws the eye and makes the game stand out. It reminded me of artwork I have seen by H.R. Giger, and of the visuals of Scorn or the Xenomorph lairs in Alien (both of which make sense given the inspiration). The game has several relatively easy and straight forward puzzles, and an uncomplicated storyline based on several Good vs Evil decisions the player makes. It is relatively short for one playthrough - without any guides and not rushing through dialogue it took me about three hours for a whole playthrough start-to-finish (about two hours rushing through the dialogue on my second playthrough). Another aspect I found intriguing was the music; I interpreted it as being "music if H.R. Giger made music instead of art". It complemented the visuals well. A fun little play if you enjoy click-and-point games with the occasional puzzle thrown in, but what really stands out are the visuals and music.

Nice, short, simple adventure with good artwork, some interesting ideas, and meaningful choices. The plot is very good. I expected the artwork to be more impressive; it feels a little flat, but it is still good. The puzzles are a bit simple, but that is not always a bad thing. If you like this art style and enjoy a good story, you will probably enjoy wandering around this world.

What a dark and freaky little game. I loved it thoroughly. Point and click mechanics and puzzles at their finest, nothing too challenging, but nothing that's overly simple either. The dark gothic, twisted and demented worldscape is reminiscent of more recent games like Blasphemous or Scorn in their design, and retains uniqueness and intrigue throughout. The ending of the game does play out differently based on what choices you make along the way, which I wasn't expecting and appreciated as it added more depth and meaning to the story. Great point and click puzzle game, definitely gets a recommend from me.
