Spelunker Party!

It's also a problem that non-friends are allowed into friends-only rooms, but more unforgivable is that the achievements don't work properly. All of games with glitches around achievements should be removed from Steam!

It's Spelunker, the legendary kusoge with niche appeal that you either love for its deliberate and precise approach to platforming or that you despise because you break your ankles and die if you fall from a height greater than one foot. This entry's a bit more accessible in terms of difficulty, though some of the levels and their respective challenges can be particularly cruel (looking at you, Ninja Suit). ... There's really not much else to say about it. Outside of the addition of a roster of characters and an equipment system that introduces [i]very light[/i] replayability in the form of combing old levels for previously inaccessible secrets, reviewing this is like reviewing any entry in the Bomberman series; what're you really gonna say other than, "It's Bomberman." Recommended, so long as you understand that it's still Spelunker. If you hate Spelunker, then Spelunker Party isn't going to change your mind, but if you [i]kind of liked[/i] Spelunker HD, this one might push you over the edge thanks to its more tolerable difficulty curve.

Imagine that you had to go exlpore a cavern as a hobby, now that sounds pretty swesome... but mind you, it is a very dangerous and ardewous journey to collect all the treasurea that lie within... now imagine that with freinds... oh yeah, thats this game ina nutshell. This game is a blast, especially with the online multiplayer which allows you to join other peoples game, be it your friends or people you can make your friends with your wonderfull charm and astounding wit. Now I know what youre thingking... I wish I could play as someone more like myself? Well I have great news for you because you can customise your character all you want. You want to be a cute girl? You got options. You want to be a cool guy? You got options too and to top it all off you can bring a beautiful pet aling too, so really there is something for everyone to enjoy in this game. Did I mention the music is also awesome too, i have been playing it in a youtube video while i work out my tax exemption in my email chain, its that good. I rate this game 5 flares out of 5

This was VERY clearly a phone game at one point and they chickened out. It's too hard for kids and too boring for your average adult, but holy crap I did NOT expect to like this as much as I did! Spelunker is an infamous old platformer about a cave explorer who dies from... well pretty much everything! Even falling the tiniest bit too far which you will soon find out is not far at all! It's so infamous for this design that pretty much all memory most people have of the game is memes (mostly from asia) about all the silly extremely easy ways you can die. The music is an earworm which once you hear will never truly leave you and that's ESPECIALLY true for the "you died" jingle. The original games used to be brutal due to the mechanics, but this game does a good job of more slowly easing in players to the more complicated concepts. However regardless of that the entire game for the most part on top of the platforming is one massive patience test! Move too early? Dead! move too late? Dead! hesitate? Dead from traps or even your character running out of stamina. This game is a steal when it's on sale on steam and I also think it's a good stepping stone before you move onto even more…

I love Spelunker Party.. It may not be an everyone kind of game but it's a game for everyone if that makes sense. I couldn't imagine not liking it! Swing on vines.. run from rocks.. all kinds of good things inside this game as you're looking for treasure!

I had originally recommended this game, but after some time, I can't say I do. And not because of the typical "OOOOH GAME TOO HARD LET ME GO BACK TO BARNEY HIDE AND SEEK ADVENTURE" baby-rage Spelunker games typically receive -- if anything, this one's EASIER. It's just... this game isn't that GOOD compared to Spelunker HD. The game is HEAVILY skewed towards multiplayer, with a LOT of the collectibles locked behind said multiplayer mode. This is already an issue in my opinion, as Spelunker HD had the common sense to provide different levels for Single and Multi player modes. On top of that, the multiplayer scene for this game is NON-EXISTENT. So... good luck. After playing through the first world, my interest in the game dropped sharply, and going back to it just makes me want to play Spelunker HD instead. Do yourself a favor and pick up Spelunker HD or Spelunker HD Deluxe instead. They're unfortunately not on PC, but you CAN emulate original Spelunker HD on PS3 or Spelunker HD Deluxe on Switch if you REALLY want to play on PC. That said, I GENUINELY want a port of Spelunker HD to PC in some way, I would snatch it up in an INSTANT -- and that's coming from someone who has the PS4 …
