[h1] Great platformer with puzzle elements. Pick 2 of 5 characters and try to beat the game in different ways, depending on the characters selected. Each one have unique abilities which come in handy as game progresses. It was highly recommended and praised by many sites and it's still worth checking out especially if you like Trine, Unravel and such. [/h1]

Fun commentary, good animation, bit of a clickfest from time to time but generally the puzzles are tractable.

Not as good as I remember as a kid. Humor Can't carry a game and the gameplay is very boring.

Ultimately, I wasn’t enjoying my time playing it, so I don’t recommend it. The story is ok and the puzzles are clever. The narration is good and funny at times. However, zipping back and forth juggling 3 characters who are typically on different parts of the level got old very fast. Animations and walking speed were slow and I seemed to be fighting the controls throughout the game. Dying from fall damage happens a lot and I don’t really see a reason why it was even in the game. It would have made the game a bit faster, unless padding it out to take certain paths rather than dropping down was the intended direction. I also realized that no ambient music was playing, it was just the characters footsteps and other noises. Backtracking was a problem too. Overall, I found it to be a very tedious game; one I certainly did not want to play several times to go through with all the characters. [b]5/10[/b] Average

RATING: 5/5 Definitely recommended, it is a charming witty little adventure about some goofy characters that are up to no good. There are seven protagonist and you can play with three of them at a time. After you finish the game you can replay and choose different characters. The game is a platformer that takes place in a cave, you will solve a lot of puzzles while spelunking. The puzzles are fun and interesting and sometimes require collaboration between the characters and good timing. The whole game is narrated by the "cave" itself, with a very funny and sarcastic tone.

I would first like to say, given the recent news, that Xbox and Microsoft can crash and burn in hell and every one of the many alt-right manchildren that celebrate their plans to shut down not just Double Fine, but ALL of the studios being threatened, do not actually like video games and should crawl back to whatever cesspool they came from. With that out of the way, The Cave is a lovely game brought to us by the combined efforts of Double Fine and veteran game designer Ron Gilbert. Taking inspiration from one of his earliest games, Maniac Mansion, The Cave is a cleverly designed puzzle game where you take control of 3 (out of a possible 7) characters and use them all to solve the many puzzles in the titular cave (which is alive and talks to you). I found the gameplay to be overall very fun. The puzzles feel just the right amount challenging and the main mechanic of switching between characters was satisfying. The aesthetics of the game are great too, especially with the unique set pieces each character has.
