About Splash Dino

Drag objects (wooden boxes and triangles and other objects) to help the little dino throw the wooden ball into the water. And remember that dino can help you with tips (hints as black and red frames), skips and dino coins.
At the beginning of the game you have 30 dino coins, 20 tips (hints) and 10 skips. Every second level you receive an additional dino coin. You can use dino coins to increase the number of tips and skips you have. Tips help you complete a level faster, while skips allow you to jump to the next level.
Are you ready to test your brain with this colorful, cute and challenging puzzle game? Good luck! 115 levels.

Difficulty : 3.5/5 (Hard) Global : 2/5 (Good) Curator page : Anokturnus Splash Dino is a puzzle game in which you place obstacles to guide a wooden ball into the water. I recently reviewed a game called Professor Goodboi's Ballistics which had the same principle. It features easy levels but with a large panel of mechanics that make the game fun. Splash Dino is the total opposite. There are 4 elements : crates, triangles, bombs + destructive blocks and falling platforms, that's all. For games like that, there are two possibilities : the puzzles are either repetitive and filler, or the dev exactly knows how to exploit the potential of its mechanics. Fortunately, the latter is true. There are 100 levels and most of the solutions feel unique despite the low variety and number of elements you're given (each level has up to 3 items to place). The game is hard, even very hard sometimes. It requires you to study exactly how the physics of the game works and craft very precise solutions. Absurd precision like that might seem like a chore, and of course it can be frustrating. But that's also interesting in my opinion…

Simple puzzle that requires too much precision. The goal in each puzzle is to place a limited number of different objects to get the ball into a poll. You can place them anywhere unless they overlap with the stage’s assets. Objects will drop as soon as you click the button because there is gravity. After you beat two puzzles, you receive one dino point that can be used in the store. You can either buy a hint for five points, which marks spots in the puzzle where objects should be placed or a skip for ten points that completely skips the puzzle. Puzzles are very hard because of precision. You need to place the objects exactly; if it’s a couple of pixels too far to the left or right, you will fail. This also makes the hints semi-useful; the spot mark is bigger than the object, so you will still need to find the perfect spot yourself. Another criticism is that objects don’t stay in place when you fail and restart a puzzle. You need to drag them each time, which is a hassle because placement has to be perfect each time.

Very little instruction, the game just throws you into it. Also, if you need to move a piece, you need to do so from the start instead of the game showing you where you last placed your piece, a favorite quality among similar games. Pass up on this one.
