Sadly the default controls most likely will conflict with those from your operating system, making the game unplayable. It's something you can probably work around if you're determined, however. This is fixable if you desperately care, but would ideally have already been the case in the default configuration.1 found this helpful
Stargunner is a classic side-scrolling shoot ’em up that captures the raw energy and design philosophy of mid-1990s PC action games. Playing it today feels like opening a time capsule from an era when fast reflexes, relentless enemy waves, and pure mechanical satisfaction were the primary goals. The game places you in the role of an elite pilot tasked with striking back against hostile forces threatening interstellar peace. The story is simple and functional, serving mainly as a framework for the action rather than a focal point. What matters more is the journey through dozens of levels spread across space stations, planetary surfaces, underwater facilities, and alien strongholds. Each environment brings its own hazards and enemy patterns, ensuring that progression feels varied even though the core mechanics remain consistent throughout. An old-school MS-Dos game that is simple, challenging and a lot of fun to play. I remember having hours and hours of fun with this game as a kid - and while I have lost a lot of my skills, I am still having a lot of fun.
