See my playing hours ?? I had a great sleep while I left the game running. Now you can calculate the value of boredom.16 found this helpful
I love how different this is from the original Star Raiders, while still retaining key aspects of the original gameplay. I enjoyed learning all the cool things you can do with your ship, and comparing what you can do now with what you could do in the original. I love all the new abilities and weapons and such! I don't mind that it's mission-based because all the missions are at different locations with different scenery, terrain, and things you have to get done. It adds some nice variety! I like that the cutscenes add a bit of depth to the story, and explain what's happening and why, and how it's connected to the original. I love that Solaris is included here too! Not only is the gameplay good, but the graphics aren't bad either! The controls are pretty complicated if you don't have a controller, it definitely just takes time to get used to. All this and the music is a 10 out of 10. I'd listen to it all the time if I could5 found this helpful
A really terrible game that doesn't even come close to capturing the feel of the original. I won't bother you detailing what the game is like. There are plenty of reviews out there. I will get down to the nitty-gritty. Is it fun? No. The enemy has no real intelligence. Just fire your weapon and eventually you'll hit something. Capital ships are insanely easy. Strafe and shoot. The most laughable capital ship is supposed to be the hardest: The Zylon Basestar. You remember that annoying glowing basestar from the original? Shielded so you had to hit him just right. In this version, you just fly inside it and sit there, completely protected from attack, while you line up your shots. It's kind of cute how they use the original symbols on the galactic map. And the space backdrop is nice to look at. But the over-the-shoulder look you get of your ship should immediately tell you: This is not Star Raiders. Gone is the (limited, but good for its time) strategy of defending your starbases. But even 1979 gameplay is superior to this where there is no strategy at all. Heck, even Star Raiders II had better gameplay than this travesty. If you're looking for a recapture of Star Raiders on a …3 found this helpful

Not bad for what it is, most of the negative reviews are people that played the original, grab and emulator and play that one if you like it better or get Atari 50 and play the enhanced on there. This is just ok and you can't complain for the price.2 found this helpful
Star Raiders was one absolute best Atari 2600 games gets desecrated with a "mobile style" revision. To Atari: give these modern revisions to Adamvision / SneakyBox only.1 found this helpful
