About Stay Still

Short Description

You won't survive in Stay Still (previously The Horrors: Lost Tape), a first-person psychological horror game developed by a team of small indie game developers. You play as
Nam, explore the urban house and try to survive long enough to discover its terrible dark secret... if you dare.

The game is developed by two passionate indie game developers, one that has experience in the game development field, and another one that is just starting out, and with the help of the experienced developer, the other one could learn and improve in the field. This project is an experiment, but we personally believe it's a good one.

Synopsis:

The story of the game revolves around Nam, he is looking for a cheap house to rent for a day, a friend introduced him to this house and because the price is so cheap, he decided to rent that house even Even though he was opposed by his family and he didn't know it was the same place where a murder took place in 2008.

Stay Still is a genuine first-person psychological horror game experience, which intends to demonstrate the way that the most metropolitan legends could have a major effect over individuals.

Features:

► True Psychological Horror Experience: You cannot fight it, if you want to survive the horrors of the cursed house, your only chance is to run or hide.

► High Quality Visuals: The AAA graphics will give the player a detailed and terrifying environment to get immersed.
► Immersive Sound Design: Every little sound & detail was properly blended together with the environment.
► Real Horror: A sense of insanity may give the player the delusion that the surroundings are completly changed.

Pros: - Sound design Cons: - Can't interact with objects necessary for progression - Text stays on screen for too long and can't interact with other objects while text is on screen - Couldn't get past 2nd objective

Game is completely broken, events don't trigger so there is no progression even after restarting the game. No objectives pop up either so you don't even know how to progress.

This game looks great visually, but should have been worked on more, it's far from finished. 1. Story is boring and the game is not scary. 2. Gameplay is frustratting. A lot of walking back and forth just to unlock doors and cabinets. 3. The objectives are weird: "Make sure to interact with everything" is a very odd thing to tell a player. 4. The game doesn't inform you which levels you have completed. ----4.1. If you go through a bloodstained door to a level you've already completed, the game forces you to complete it again. You SHOULD NOT have to do that. ----4.2 You SHOULD NOT be able to pick up items you already have picked up from completing a level. 5. Picking up items is frustrating; the item needs to be perfectly centered on the screen in order for the prompt to appear. 6. Sprinting has a bug, it doesn't always work.

GAME BROKEN...
Not recommended Jan 23, 2026
Stay Still as in stay still in the first level because bugs/glitches prevent you from progressing at all. Vile, badly made game with hideous lighting that prevents you from seeing where you're going. It randomly repeatedly glitches out where you can no longer crouch or interact with anything at all, forcing a restart. Annoying, pointless tripe with no redeeming value. Can't even progress beyond the first freaking room. Stinks of amateur handiwork and should be on some dump like itch.io or something.

Is the text extremely faded for anyone else? It's barely visible, therefore I have no idea whats going on. I can see things to click, I can tell a sentence pops up but no clue what it says.
