Tails of the North

My cats seemed to enjoy watching me play this game. When asked for comment, one replied, 'Brrrt'... and then proceeded to lick themself.

I think this game is super cute and has a lot of potential, the story could go places and the drawings are amazing. the animations and controls are a bit clanky but that's all stuff that can be improved on!! I would totally recommend this game and i would totally keep playing if this game has updates too work on it and make it even better!!

Tails of the North is a surprisingly pleasant adventure that I enjoyed mainly because of its atmosphere. I play as a young cat who survives the destruction of a cat colony and sets out to discover why the natural order around the region has become unstable. I liked how the cute main character contrasts with the more serious mystery surrounding the world. The gameplay is focused mostly on exploration and story. I spend my time travelling through the northern environment, meeting characters and searching for clues connected to the disappearance of a spirit. I liked the relaxed pacing because it gives me time to actually look around and appreciate the world instead of constantly rushing toward the next objective. The role playing elements are fairly light, but they give the experience some extra personality. I can customize my character and interact with the inhabitants of the world while gradually learning more about what has happened. I enjoyed the feeling of slowly piecing the mystery together through exploration rather than having every important detail explained immediately. This is a beautiful looking game on the surface with a load of crap underneath it. Full of softlocks, awful animations, and a story that is basically playing fetch for two spirit ravens, this game would've been only 20 minutes for me had it not been for how many times I had to restart from the beginning because of how broken it is. Not long after the first one, there are two quests that are given to you that you cannot trigger unless you finish one other. The game does not tell you this. Talk to Puppy and talk to Blizzard. Neither one will do anything if you interact with them, unless you find the bone to finish the second quest for Boreal and Austral. I spent a good while thinking the game was broken and that you could only find the bone from either of the other two characters because the game gives you no indicator otherwise. From there, you'll get the ability to swipe, after which it's easy to accidentally sequence break the game and actually softlock yourself. Be sure not to break the boulder on the mountain before you're supposed to, otherwise the next quest will say "broken 0/0 boulders". Even when you reach that part, after you do it, it'll still say "0/1", though you'll sti…

Cute amazing game! The graphics, texturing and art style are so beautiful to look at and caught my attention instantly. The story has great potential and the characters have a lot to offer! A few critiques that can be fixed with time and practice are to do with the rigging/animation on movement. The map needs some adjustments with directions of quests. I would also love more cat customization! Overall I can't wait to see this game grow and become something even bigger!
