Ever miss being a child, playing games at your grandma's or in your old bedroom? Then look no further! The Adventures of Elena Temple is the classic you never knew existed. And the best part is that you can play it on virtual old machines that kind of sort of maybe existed. It's not like you can remember for sure anyway, right?
The Adventures of Elena Temple is a monochromatic puzzle platformer made to look as if it were created in the 80s. Overcome obstacles, figure out how to advance, collect everything in sight, find all the secrets and remember your childhood while doing it. Progress through the game's three dungeons through non-linear exploration, then unlock the new game modifiers and re-experience the game in whole new ways.

Heads up
The Adventures of Elena Temple is just one game you can play on seven simulated machines. Aside from the different look, the game plays the same on all machines and has the exact same content! The purpose of these old machines is to remind you of the old days, so feel free to pick whichever you like best without any fear of missing out on game content.
The game should run on most Windows computers that aren't on display in a museum, but if you have one that doesn't run it, you have my deepest sympathy. Just to be safe, you should have at least the below specs.

This is neat! This is comfy! I played this while waiting for somebody to cook me some burritos and Brussels sprouts and I [i]do not[/i] regret it in the least! Elena Temple may be built like a gummy bear, but that chunky chick can [b]adventure[/b] her a$$ off I'll tell ye, and each of the [b]three[/b] little micro-adventures in this collection play differently! The first is the longest, and the last is the trickiest. If I recall, the second, with the spiders, is the shortest? The filters are nice, but they do not change the ZX-Spectrum vibes of the adventure at all. There's some cool [b]meta[/b] about a fictional developer below each of the filter selections. So you can play on a different screen, you see, with a different palette and different stuff in the background. Very cool, Kanye, but where is my dirt-floored favela hovel? Where is my filthy cat palace trailer with threadbare carpet? Where is my grungy sex dungeon basement? Points off, points off! (Nah, but I love it. It's a good little game! Delightful little mini-vania that presents itself as a faux 'lost' ZX-Spectrum game, complete with skins & filters for every imaginary failed platform the game was allegedly ported to. Underneath the cute, lo-fi presentation is a smart, difficult platformer that reminds us that a bit of jank in the engine/controls can be more of a feature than a bug in the right hands.
Classic retro fun with modern quality of life features! I love it!
