The Curse of Feldar Vale

The Curse of Feldar Vale is a traditional party-based tactical RPG that proudly embraces the complexity and methodical pacing of classic computer role-playing games. Set in the fantasy world of Qaedon during the Age of Chaos, the adventure sends a newly assembled group of heroes into Feldar Vale, a once peaceful region now suffering under an ancient curse. Rather than relying on cinematic presentation or fast action, the game builds its identity around exploration, tactical encounters, character statistics, equipment management, and careful preparation. This is an awesome game. I love the feeling of exploration, and how you can build every character so they fulfill a specific niche (my rogue just scouts and discovers secrets around the map, the cleric heals the warrior, who hits like a truck, and so on). I can't wait to finish the game so I can export my party to the next one. Also, much love to the devs!

Too hard to be any fun. I tried three different times to get past the first board and suffered total party wipes. I'm no noob to SRPG's. It's up there with Knight of the Chalice in difficulty.

Entertaining well made old school RPG. Day/night cycle and rations are nice addons. Text style and story exciting and fun.

This is like playing a tabletop rpg on a virtual tabletop app. Interesting battles and ongoing storyline on the map. I did get my ass kicked in the first play, but I guess that's just me :P

This is a fun, turn-based CRPG. It is relatively open-ended in the sense that you can complete the main quest generally in the order you wish. I suggest that you choose "veteran" for the enemy AI, which isn't very difficult. The encounters are still easy-ish overall, requiring the need to reload only a few times during the 20 hours I've played. Once you get the hang of "everything is turn based, even outside combat", you will learn to quickly traverse the map thanks to the group movement and jump (essentially, "teleport" functions). There are two other games in this series which I may try in the future. I would like to see harder combat encounters which require some form of strategy to overcome. As a side note, the devs are really nice folks too, taking heed of their customer base and making changes to future games (which they apply retrospectively to the initial games) based on this feedback.
