About The Dark Tower

The Dark Tower is set on the world of Qaedon, a thousand years before the Great Cataclysm and is the last part in the trilogy that began with The Curse of Feldar Vale and continued in Mystery at Morgoth. Known as the Age of Chaos, humans, greenskins, and all manner of monsters fight to survive these troubled times.

The malevolent being that has controlled events until now has been named. Your party must seek out the Archmage Kornath who knows the location of the evil one.

Build a party of 4-6 characters to adventure in the region around Cleerport, to seek fame and fortune, or more likely find just enough coin to put food on the plate. The Dark Tower delivers old-school gaming with hand-drawn 2D graphics throughout.

If you completed Mystery at Morgoth import your party to continue the adventure or defeat the dark evil in stand-alone mode with a new party of your choice.
  • Hours of gameplay with multiple locations to visit and numerous quests to undertake.
  • Build your party from traditional D&D races (Human, Elf, Dwarf, Half-Elf, or Halfling).
  • Use your Warriors to batter the enemy, your Rogues to sneak up unseen, or your Clerics to Turn the Undead.
  • Get power and magic with your Battlemages or pure magic with your combat-weak Mages.
  • Recruit single or multi-class units like the Warrior/Rogue.
  • Tactical turn-based encounters on square grids where every decision counts.
  • Adventure in overland locations, explore buildings, or battle in dark dungeons.
  • Keep your party supplied (hungry heroes do not fight as efficiently as well-fed ones!).
  • Hundreds of items for your party to find.
  • Dozens of spells for your Battlemages, Clerics, and Mages to blast the enemy or help your party.
  • Fill your coffers with Qaedi (the global currency) by looting your enemies.
  • Permanent death for units unless you can afford Resurrection!!
  • Dozens of options to customize gameplay.
  • Optional advanced rules to change the way you play.
  • Customize each member of your party as they level up through combat experience.
  • Dozens of attributes for each unit covering their physical quality, abilities, movement, protection, and combat modifiers.
  • Equip your units with all manner of goodies using a variable inventory with up to 23 slots per unit.
  • Build spellbooks for your spellcasters from three Schools of Magic - Arcane, Divine, and Planar.
  • Battle dozens of foes, many of them based on original D&D creatures.
  • Deal with Traps both mechanical and magical.
  • Detailed In-Game Player Guides (Item Directory, Spell Compendium).
  • Help System for every spell, item, and ability.
  • Customizable Tooltip System.
  • ...and so much more!

New rules/improvements from Mystery at Morgoth:
  • New feature: Illusory Objects - all is not what it seems!
  • New feature: Combat Bonuses for Non-weapons - items that confer a bonus when equipped (e.g. Helm of The Living + 4 Damage vs. Undead).
  • New feature: Memorized Spells Dialog - quick casting for any spell caster, displaying all memorized spells in one place.
  • Improved AI spellcasting and combat.

and more to come.....

The Dark Tower is the third & final game in this 3-game series. The story began with ‘The Curse of Feldar Vale’, continued with ‘Mystery at Morgoth’ & concluded with ‘The Dark Tower’. If you have any interest in tactical RPG’s then I highly recommend you play this series. I’ve had a blast! You can export your party from the conclusion of one game to the next, so it is really just one game in three parts. The story just continues from one game to the next. If you play the game carefully, checking out each monster’s stats, lore, etc, then you can easily put in over 100 hours on the series. For the paltry few dollars each game costs, if that is not value for money, then I would like to know what is? The games each have so much detail they leave most RPG’s for dead. Right from the start, rolling the characters for your party, offers so many choices to allocate your character points. Page after page of options. You can really make characters you want and they can even be dual-class or even triple-class – right from the start. How many other RPG games allow you to do this? Once you get into the game, the detail continues. Every monster has an incredible amount of detail. J…

The entire series is a must buy. If you like D&D style games then it's for you. The game is incredibly deep which is hard to tell from the store page. You won't find more hours of enjoyment for another RPG at this price on steam.

This is a huge improvement over The Curse of Feldar Vale, but I am not sure why. I am really getting much more into the system this time around. I am giving this a big thumbs up. It's inexpensive at full price, let alone on sale. It's a true DnD RPG like Baldur's Gate with lot's of fun building your party, clearing the maps, progressing through the story, etc. I would like to suggest the Dev adds at least an additional save armor set (like the save weapon sets) as I have a Half Elf Rogue/Archer who is my main searcher, trap disarmer, lock picker, etc., and I have to constantly switch back and forth between his "searching" set and his "archery fighting" set. In the town's shop, it would be nice if we could cycle through our party (i.e., Next) like all the other screens after purchasing something and adding to inventory, instead I have to save/close and then advance through the party (I may not be explaining this perfectly, but there is a screen situation where you can't cycle through your party that's irritating as it makes comparing party members to see who needs what difficult). I tried to set up my party using all 40 points, I used 39 on 4 party members (something like Level …

Followed all four of the games. Enjoyed each one more as they got increasingly better. Really enjoyed the tactical aspects. Would like to see hex grids instead the the squares, and it is pretty hard to level up unless you keep your character traits simple. The designers were available to help out when I got stuck. If they come out with more, I will definitely acquire them.

I've enjoyed all three games in this series. Great tech support for when I stumbled on a game-breaking bug.
