It's a detective game featuring seven cases in which Inspector Dagby and his assistant Valmont must investigate to find the culprit of a murder. The stories are illustrated with hand-drawn cartoon-style scenes; the idea of using animals as characters is a great one. There are 28 puzzles to piece together, very simple and suitable for all ages. Once you've completed the puzzle, Dagby will explain what happened through dialogue. After showing the clues, he'll let you choose the culprit, and then the mystery will be revealed. The music is beautiful jazz and perfectly complements the noir atmosphere of these stories! I highly recommend it; it's fun and truly relaxing, a great stress reliever! I didn't even realize I was a jigsaw puzzle guy until I played this. This is a beautiful game. The illustrations are stunning and the game feels super intuitive - adding the jigsaw puzzles to the board is so satisfying with the effect and sound it makes. The storyline is straightforward and doesn't even punish you for getting it wrong, but it's fun and honestly straight out of a cartoon, which I love. All of the art comes from illustrator Dave Montes, someone who previously worked on (and from memory, helped to establish the artstyle for) 'Brawlhalla', which everyone's heard of at this point. Those character designs are some of my favorite in the industry and these are no different - so much personality gleaned just off of those designs alone, which is what makes a great character design. The programming for this game comes from Matt Woomer, who made this game so damn satisfying to play. It's smooth like butter. Something I'd enjoy in the future are achievements for the game. Basic ones like "Complete the Lighthouse Mystery" would be appreciated, but I'd also love ones that have you play differently, like "Complete a puzzle without the board" or "Create a 5-jigsaw piece chunk a…1 found this helpful
Pretty fun puzzle game, but I wish there were achievements.1 found this helpful
Amazing puzzle game with fun characters and stories too!! Would def recommend!!! A little short, but very chill! The art is also beautiful and works perfectly with the puzzle gameplay, you could tell what pieces went where because of how well thought out the colours and lines would, had me twirling my hair a lil cause of how perfect it was. Very much looking forward to more!!! I love Valmont and I want to hug him!!1 found this helpful
This game is a lot of fun. There is something therapeutic to the snap of puzzle pieces coming together. That said, Dagby is the real hero of this fun puzzle adventure. I'm not sure how the Captain got his job but he clearly has something on the upper management of the force. Dagby should investigate the Captain's incompetence in the next chapter.1 found this helpful
Really lovely jigsaw puzzler with great art and a charming little story. The main puzzle system works really well - everything feels satisfying to snap together and move about, my only criticism would be it's very touch orientated and maybe some more keyboard/mouse focused options (e.g. middle mouse click to pan, allow using scroll wheel to move the row of puzzle pieces) would've been nice but think they're more icing on top and overall it's a really solid jigsaw puzzle engine they've made in Godot. Not finished yet but the art style is really lovely and charming, really love these little fuzzy detectives already. It's very charming and very charming detective stories a well (with actual attention to detail and bits of deduction needed), all fits nicely into a fun cozy package. Excellent work
